- My New 1427cc Project Bike -

As some of you are aware, Entropy recently switched to the Busa platform. In doing so, he decided to sell his beloved 12R. Karl and this bike have a long, well-documented history together. I just happened to be in the right place, at the right time, to purchase the bike. Karl extended me a very good deal, and I could not pass up the chance to own this piece of ZX-12R LSR history (and future ).

So, here she is, in her new home:

This should make for a great long-term project. It's ironic that this bike shares the garage with an Ace Performance 1287, since TFA and Ace have a long-standing friendly rivalry.

Anyway, I want to extend a big thanks to Karl for making this happen. He and his wife were kind enough to bring the bike (and a bunch of spares) to Maxton this past weekend, where I took delivery of the bike...and Karl went 218.7 mph on his new Busa.

I believe some exciting things are in store for this bike...

Shane

Congrats, I can't believe Karl would let go with all the time he has invested in it but hey if we all thought the same would be a boring world!

Nice rumble that motor makes

Every single time Karl or Doug started that bike it made me jump. I have never heard another bike sound the way that one does. I will miss seeing it in the pits at the Texas
Mile. It makes me very sad that it is gone because it seems like it kinda puts an end to an era and changes alot of things that I liked very much. I guess change is going to always happen, I just hope that it ushers in a great future. Enjoy it Shane, maybe you will bring it to the Texas Mile sometime.

Probably not...then again, they probably wouldn't recognize it anyway.

When are you bringing your 12R out?

It's early, but my thoughts are to make the motor a little lower compression, and rev it a little lower for longevity. Then I will probably go through all of the chassis, and redo all of the electronics with reliability in mind.

There will also be some setup and cosmetic changes along the way.

Then I just want to have some fun with it doing some LSR stuff.

Scott, the hubby and I have been riding the 12 on the street, it already has over 9000 miles on it in compared to the 2500 when we bought it. I cant think of a reason to race an absolutely stock bike but if you think of one let me know! I enjoy the hell out of riding it.

Unless you got a TFA t-shirt, you got ripped! How many spare head gaskets did he have on hand for it? With all the research Karl use to do with that motor,Cometic will have to lay off an employee now.
