Yea,Cobalt drills are much better for drilling harder materials. I have to drill quite a bit of inconel, hastelloy and titanium.

Toby's gonna rake the frame 5 degrees - and I'm gonna get the block o-ringed. I talked to a ZX11 dude who has done a bunch of cam timing dyno tests on a motor like mine and he thinks I can pick up 3-5hp at peak (?) by setting my intake at 110 (103 now) and leaving the exhaust at 105. Worth a shot I guess. I also have some stock Busa (blech! :P ) retainers that are supposed to swap out with mine - but aluminum. I'm dropping the motor tonite... gotta build a box to hold it. It's been COLD in my garage though - I suppose your shop is toasty...

Shop is toasty but...the DYNO ROOM gets...well...AS COLD AS OUTSIDE + the 20,000CFM wind-chill-factor
I kinda LIKE it though

UMMM...I "don't like" aluminum retainers...as much as titanium...
It's rare but...I've seen a valve pull through an aluminum retainer before...
I'm gonna call you now...

Geez, I'm gettin reamed here! I've never heard of a Busa ripping through a retainer, anyone else? Maybe they are built a little better than average. Mike Keyte told me about them. But I would rather leave the stock ones in there if there's that much risk...

Speaking of Mike, I just sent him my block to be o-ringed. I dropped off the roller at Toby's last night, he said 2 weeks to get the rake done. Hopefully by next week I'll have a better idea about the rest of the parts...

Hey congrats about quitting smoking Ken - It was 3 years last October for me. It gets easier.

I finally got a reponse on a Busa board from Rudy Santozerra, says he uses the stock retainers on all his motors, up to 1685cc, never had a problem. I WILL keep an eye on them tho.

So Kev, when it's all together, I want to see if I can bust yer dyno. This time the retard will be constant, and the head will stay on tight. I also need some SMW stickers

Well then go get your record now buddy, cuz that number is gonna be OLD NEWS pretty soon

You know I'm kidding, I don't care too much what the dyno says, as long as the A/F is kosher and I can pick my shift points, but I guess if there has to be record, might as well TRY...

I think John's bike is gonna be pretty stout on the progressive dry shot, not to mention the 1361.... Outta the way, Mr Rex...
