Cecil at HTP Performance built the 2nd engine with this head and its making 265 hp. Its a 2 x 5 and its running 8.20's 170 mph with a 230# rider on it. Its not a light bike either. Traction is limiting them at this point so they are working on the suspension.

Rickey will have one of these heads on his real street bike soon. We are working on it now. I'm hoping he will have it for the MIROCK race at Rockingham in November. His real street bike is also a 2 x 5.

We are hoping to get into the 7's on motor.

I thought I'd post a quick update..... Rickey Just called me.....

He dynoed his 1530cc 2 x 5 zx14 "MIROCK Real Street" bike on Wednesday and then took off the Carpenter head and cams and put our head and cams on the bike today. It picked up 18 hp and they haven't tuned it yet. The a/f is at 11.5 and it hasn't had a timing map made yet. Both runs with the different head and cams had our 47mm throttle bodies on them.

Nothing else was done to the bike, just a head and cam swap. Steve Knecum did the head swap and degreed the cams. I expect it to be about 255-260 hp all said and done.

I'll post a full report after the bike is tuned

Wow Jim, that's a huge difference, congrats! 8% power increase without tuning, that's crazy.

Do you have any sense of how much your cams differ from the Carpenter cams?

Dean, our cams are .060" more lift.

This head is able to run larger cams because we bore out the bucket wells for 28mm buckets on the CNC machine and also mill out the cam tunnels and cam caps for lobe clearance with the CNC machine.
Its got o/s valves, APE bronze seats and guides and an APE spring and TI retainer kit.

One thing to note, we haven't played with cam timing yet. We are running very safe numbers right now but we need to move the intake cam 2 degrees and the exhaust cam 10 degrees. Time was short as usual so we needed to get the bike together and dynoed and dialed in at the track for rockingham and valdosta coming up soon.

This bike is also going to get sprayed for real street. We should have some 1/4 mile times in the next few days. Rickey will be testing at Atco ASAP.

It shouldn't be long before i have one in my hands. I'll take pics etc and post like i did for the BMW head when it first came out.

A year from now its gonna get real good around here, like the good old days on here 10 years ago. This zx10 is nothing folks.

Heres rickeys post over on PsychoBike about the head. they were still tuning it tonight.......
The bottom line, this head and cam package picked up over 24 hp over the carpenter head and cam package.
Needless to say Rickey is very happy with the engineering that went into this head.

Heres the link.... http://psychobike.com/forums/kawasaki-zx12r-zx14/63926-cylinder-head-cam-swap-nets-254-hp.html

Jim,
That is AWESOME!!!!

Are you planning on running yr 14 at any LSR events in 2011, maybe start with Texas in March??
You are long overdue for showing up at Texas.
\
BTW: why chop the throttle at 11K?, yr head is still increasing hp.
