I do not have a Muzzy nor have I had experience with one.
We both (kzz1 and I) have the MRE Airshifter. We bought them from Schnitz Racing. We have had NO issues (mechanically) with either one of ours.

I did get one of the lines too close to a hot shot and melted a hole in a line once.

I don't know if it's about being a man or not... Airshifters are consistent -safer for your transmission, they eliminate the need to get your foot up for the 1-2, and will make you quicker and faster.

Pingel told me that an air shifter will not make your bike faster, (unless you can't shift.)
However the shifter will settle your ride down & make you more consistant.
But you don't need one to win a Championship!

The ZX12 is "the best shifting bike I have ever raced" it IS the first/only bike (model) I have ever ridden that does NOT need an air shifter to "go quicker" at the track IMO...
THAT being said...GET ONE ANYWAY!!!
It WILL help your consistency...and it IS nice not HAVING TO FIND the shifter for second gear

I have the MRE airshifter on mine also. Made brackets that look and act like Muzzys and it works fine. The only problem that I had was bad air hose, It popped twice inside 2 weeks in 2 diffrent places. I think that I just got some bad hose. Got some new hose that has a higher rating of 600psi, I think the guy told me that the black hose has a 150 or 200psi rating.
Guy at the track has a Muzzy and the only problem they had was the regulator was set to low when they first came out. But all the new ones are fine.
I'm in the process of trying to fit my air bottle with the same regulater that Muzzy uses so I can charge it once or twice a season.
If any one has done this I would like to know the part numbers that are uses to do this.
Hope this helps.... DR JOE

Thanks for the answers. I think i choose the muzzyshifter. It is the easiest way, because i get all parts in one package.

Its still on the bike, just not using it. I'll mess around with it later this month or in February. I'm considering trying an expansion canister between the bottle and regulator as well as an anti-siphon pickup in the C02 bottle. I've been told these changes should fix the problem...

Well your at it fix mine.Hope that fixes your problem Bergie but the guys i have talked to don't agree with your theory. There fix is large ram pushing directly on the shifter, race cut tranny and different kill box(like muzzy ems or nlr digital kill).Depending on how your making your extra hp and the shape your tranny is in will determine if you need one of these or all of these fixes.I still believe if your not too much over 200 your shifter will shift no matter what kit(pingle muzzy or mps).

I might change to an NLR box or maybe try the MPS "auto shifter" that would be cool if it actually worked where I could dial in a specific RPM and let it automatically shift! It would be a bracket killer!

Your going to get yourself in more shifting trouble with the autoshifter.

I agree the shifters work fine up to about 200hp then you are in modify land like the rest of us, I'm still foot shifting but if Cowboy figures it out I may be convinced to reconsider.

The only reason (I can think of) for a bike that has over 200HP not shifting is...the tire spinning.
The purpose of the kill box is to unload the tranny for the shift...
If it kills long enough to unload the tranny...it WILL shift...
Screw it...go for the automatic tranny (racers only) they don't care how much powa you gots!!!
