I done business with John when he was at Arias pistons..In fact my turbo ZX11 project had one off units he had built for me and yes he's a good guy..Although not long after The Arias slugs were some very beautiful pistons indeed.. Ahead of the time as far as oval skits were concerned.. I still have some of those because I purchased spares like any good engine builder does when he has one offs done...

Hey there, I was reading this post and would like to let you know of some really good books I have read as to what you might be looking for.The first is, The Design and Tuning of Competition Engines. Second, Scientific Design of Exhaust and Intake Systems (Engineering & Performance).Third, Airflow and How to Get It.(All about airflow in the high performance engine). Fourth, Engine Airflow HP1537 A Practical Guide to Airflow Theory,Parts Testing,Flow bench Testing,And analyzing Data to Increase Performance. Amazon .Com has all these and other books readily available to you. Also as far as piston ring flutter I use a simple calculation for ring end gaps..004 per inch of bore size for top ring and .005 per inch of bore size for the second ring. Again this is just what I use when fitting pistons to there bores. Please correct me if I am wrong Thanks.

MTC sells the most affordable pistons, and I like them every bit as much as the JE ones.

gs, thank you for the input!! much appreciated. as far as ring gap, thats what i have read as well. more specifically, .004" for every 1" of bore.. someone may want to clarify that, but that was directly from wiseco.

i joined up on speedtalk.com.. HAHA those guys are so far above my head i feel i should just quit. lol

oh well. see how far i get with this.
