As a roadracing type, I would have to say that very few corners are actually "cut" in motorcycle roadracing. The sport in which corners are intentionally cut is rally. The navigator actually calls out "cut" or "no cut" when reading his pacenotes.
Is it really racing if you never have to steer, stop or downshift, your throttle position can be described with a binary numbering system and a pushbutton does your upshifting for you? Besides, every road race includes a drag race - it's called the start, and it's everyone's least favorite part of the event.
Wow, that sounds bitchy, even for me!

I've tried it. It just wasn't that much fun.
I'll put it in perspective for you: If racing were like an hour with a hooker, roadracing would be 60 sweaty, mouth-breathing, knee-grinding, arm-pumping minutes of getting your swerve on with a limber supermodel/gymnast. Drag racing would be 5-10 seconds of trying to guess when to start, followed by 8-10 frantic seconds of trying to hold on to a squatty, muscular, slightly elongated, sometimes gassy crackhead, and then you're done and your hooker is puking coolant.

Tim, Tim, Tim...
I follow your logic,
"60 sweaty, mouth-breathing, knee-grinding, arm-pumping minutes of getting your swerve on with a limber supermodel/gymnast"
and admire the stamina it takes to arm-pump for 60 MINUTES (minutes! fer god's sake).
But, this is prolly the only time i gotta take you to school.
With years of training come experience, knowledge, and skill.
With years of practice you can cut those 60 min down to 60 sec, they chip away at your ET sec by sec.
These days I find sub 10 sec ET's are commonplace, 5 sec on the horizon.
pretty soon she won't even know it happened.

He: "was it good for you?"
She: "was what good for me?"
He: "never mind"

That's my goal, and it is in sight.

You're a brave man walking into a drag zone and blurpin' roadracing all over everyone.
I don't drag race at all, I'm a twisty fan too -- but I don't stomp in here screamin' about it either! You got some big nutz man!! Kudo's to you for the effort, but I'm afraid you'll be on your own when this crew starts gang-whoopin' ya
