- Caliper Dust Seals? -
I am rebuilding the brakes on my 12R. Do I need to reinstall the dust seals? I have been told that removing them can reduce pad drag.
They are also like $6 each...so if they really aren't crucial, and removing them is of benefit, it would be a win-win.
Thoughts?

you will get some folks who make the sign of the cross at folks (like me) who shit can the dust seals.
I ditched mine on the Zx12 4? years ago and results are GREAT, ZERO drag
no need to pry pads back (that's when i make the sign of the cross).
there is another solution, send yr calipers to this guy as i did with my Busa = zero drag.
I dunno what he does, never asked him, but he does somthing which sure obliterates pad drag and he leaves the seals in if you want em in.

I have removed dust seals with good results. I wouldn't run 1000's of street miles without them in there but for racing it seemed to work well.
