If you are throwing the lever, rpm and tps are probably enough to tune it...

what i thought also but i am still on manifold air pressure.sort of the same thing with out the fine view of exactly how much. but i dump it so as soon as the map line goes up to the top i know i pinned it. i like the fact on using the time slip starting with that upward line to mark the different marker times.
though logging also shows one how much they suck.

Depends on how much you know of what you are doing..........
If you are challenged in clutch tuning, then a data recorder will help, if you know what is doing what.

well the last pass was a 1.59 60ft but still had to "get out of it" on the lock up> 2 arms aluminum bolts 17mm long> first pass though was a nice enguagment with the front still
on the ground pinned and a 9.60 flat with a 28.98 barameter.all other passes threw the front in the air at lock up> if i have to oil the clutch with a lube can every pass i may not go much farther with this for what i am doing. i will try this one weekend and if it works out i need to re group or get more oil in the clutch pack normally>
it will take more spring so the 60 will drop more. i am happy with that.

why would you need to oil the plates every pass?

i am thinking for it to lock up smoother. first pass (after i had it apart and made sure the plates were wet) it came in nice and smooth after that with out changing anything at all it threw the front up hard line someone added weight to the arms when i was not looking. i am at two arms aluminum bolts and no washers. can not get much liter with out grinding on the arms.

Sounds like you still need to work on the spring static if the front is still lifting on launch....Leave the arms alone unless it is slipping on the top end of the run.....Might need a few more inch`s on the swingarm.....Or get it as low as possible....

chav do not bother nox. we will get it. paul it is lifting on top not in the beginning. the arms are throwing it up when they start clamping. but i added shim and last pass was a 1.59 60ft and one throttle pump to keep the front down. i am close. i agree on the swing arm and lower to the ground.every time i get closer.

Because of an improper lock up tune up, you don't have to do that when things are correct.

also, at that wheel base with a single stage, it is no problem if you have the chassis, clutch, and all working the right way.
I ran at about 63 to 64 inches with no front weight for a long time, with a single stage lock up.
There are many factors that control these things ,and some are sort of outside what you would think.......
