new crash club member

well, monday night i highsided at about 60mph on a flat, constant raduius right hander i take EVER. SINGLE. DAY.
not sure why. it slid, i corrected and held the drift then all of a sudden it hooked up and chucked me 20 feet, slid for another 30. bike is surprisingly well. i.. not so much. jammed up shoulder/collarbone ( right) and sprained/chipped right ankle.. got some road rash as well, but was in leather and boots and it could have been a hell of a lot worse. i should have died on that road.. not sure how i didn't. NO traffic, which was amazing.

guess it's not my time yet. gear FTW tho.. i tell ya, without teleather and a full face, i may not be here right now.

just wanted to pass that along as when your own mortaility brcomes an issue in your mind, you sorta wanna ensure your family around you thinks the same thing and ensures their own safety.
much love to ya guys and i'll pop in and post pics when i can move without puking and passing out.

-Jim

ah shit, whitey, sorry to hear about yr highside.
That sux!

sounds like you got off more or less easy re injuries. could have been much worse.

pop a buncha vicodans, watch TV and snooze for a few days.

you'll be back in tip-top shape before you know it.

I'm thinking she went down on you bc you never sent me yr address therefore you never got yr TFA stickers and the bike is angry with you.

Dang sorry to hear that Whitey. Was this on the 7R? If it was how old are the tires...they looked a little old in the last pics you had up but maybe its just me.

Heal up and rest.

Ouch, glad your somewhat ok. Doesn't take much, a little oil or dirt. I have only been down on the street twice. Once on a 77 KZ900 and the second time on a 84 GPZ 1100. It sucks! Like Karl said....................................................get them TFA stickers on! just kidding, rest up!

Dane, you KILL me!!!!!!

about 25 years ago, that's EXACTLY what happened late one night to me after ingesting some dental work related percodans and Scotch.

I still have a few of those Ginsu knives; 50 year warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

too funny you should bring that up

BAHAHAha karl you may be right!! very right! i appreciate the kind words. i got SUPER super lucky as the road i ended up in was an 8 lane bypass.. and oddly, it was without traffic..
i may have hit paint but i really don't know i gotta go back thru and relive it. see if i can piece something together. i DID run wide at the end.. new suspension setup may be tp blame.. that and overconfidence..lol
the tires are great. both shinko 009s and the front is almost new.. the back is getting worn, but drifts in a controllable manner.. and i drift the piss out of this bike daily.
that i think is what saved me initially.. it DID break and slide. i counteresteered, drifed but then it just stopped sliding and flung me 20 feet. if it woulda kept sliding, i woulda been ok. have seen high-speed slides many times before

damage to the bike is surprisingly minimal.

no chicken strips there ..lol.. you can sorta see the perpendicular lines across the tread wher eit slid on me.. i REALLY wish it woulda just kept sliding. i drift the piss out of this bike every day.. i know i coulda saved it.

ninja is my guide and help around the house.
and was totally lookin at mah nuts when this pic was taken.

hey whitey,
scrubbed up a buncha stuff didn't you; but on the whole not too bad.
Bike got out of it remarkably well.

yr foot doesn't look too good???

I have to clarify my comments about recommending you pop a few vicodan + whiskey.
it was a joke
DON'T DO IT,
it would be dangerous
in fact vicodan is instrinsically dangerous

Safety First!!!
get that dangerous stuff out of yr house

send em to me, i will dispose of them in a pretty much safe manner.

BAHAHAHAHA karl you're fuckin killin me man!! lmao.. man i ran out of percocet and MAN am i hating life dude. .lol.. wow. i love noticing all the little clicks of my shoulder and stuff when i move it. tried playin drums and guitar for a hot chick who was over at the house tonight.. drums failed hard. guitar wasn't too much better. lol

everything is numb.. i think i need drugs and/or booze.

booze is most certainly WAY the hell cheaper.

the foot has some sorta chip out of it and a small fracture. i got an appointment on the 7th to get it looked at again..

the 7 DOES crash extraordinarily well. lmao. i will fire up the TIG welder monday most probably.

Mr. Hill, you are most certainly correct.. i have crashed, but NEVER like this.. not sure i wanna do it again!
better gear may have saved more damage, but for what little i did have, it did a remarkable job and i am grateful for that.

lol.. dean, i learned to ride on dirt roads.. LOVE to drift the bike. do it every single day. this will not stop me either.. it hasn;t REALLY shaken my confidence, but i will have to review why it happened. i may have simply plugged the bike into the corner WAY to fast being used to parts scraping.. this time, being higher ( 1" rear, .5" front) i had no parts scraping and therefore thought "got more lean room" and tossed it.. maybe. maybe i ran out of tread. looks as if i mighta been on the sidewall.

which i personally think is the ultimate non-chicken strip action there.. lol

i had a job interview today as well.. it went very well.. i REALLY hope i get this shit so i can afford all these lovely bills and finish the turbo motor up! get back to life.
i miss riding. it's been GORGEOUS lately. go figure.

glad to see you got thru yours!
lol ya. the bike is a hoss. no doubt about that. i bought it crashed.. and even then it looked fine. so, it can obviously take a hit.. tho i still would rather not test it's resilience. lol
