new chain and sprockets help

i tried ordering them but the people dont know no more than me and i dont know to much.im about to change my chain and sprockets.whats a good gearing i should go with.i want it geared for the track but how much will i lose on top,might as well go all the way im gonna do is wind up in dead are in jail doing 180 on the highway.i dont really want that really.i got a 9 inch stretch so how many links do i need.whats the best chain and sprockets to get.i seen a rear sprocket that weighs .67 lbs.i think ill go with that cause its light but its probably aluminum and i dont know how long they will last.ill replace it cause its cheep but i dont want to have to change them every other day
