hey woppi!
sorry to hear about yr friend crashing but as long as he walked away from it, the rest is just an opportunity to buy more (and even BETTER) parts.

I am glad he is mostly OK.
Karl

PS: gotta be REAL careful with strapped front end when braking and any bumps are involved, and doubly careful if braking, turning, bumps are involved.

Remember, everybody, it's not so much the going that will hurt you, it's the stopping. Glad he's OK!

Glad he walked away from it, but the 12 is obviously F'd.
Looks like maybe a few salvageable parts though.

I hope his wheels are OK! He really had a Beautiful Bike I can tell! That was a Serious Swingarm and it looks OK also! I think when he gets everything cleaned up and all of the parts removed, that he is going to Have A LOT of Work but not as bad as you would think out of the Pocket! Even the Forks look OK from this angle Depending on how it fell, ht may not have even ruined the frame! We are not taking about a ZX14, the ZX12 is about 50% thicker and does not have an AirFilter opening right at the steering Head.

I know you will be helping him out so goe a few Large Plastic Parts Bins because you are going to have a ton of parts in them! Let us knw how this turns out!

i had a bit of luck and skill when i went down at the 1000ft mark at 130+ on a tank slapper.thank GOD for leathers and good gear. if i was going as fast as he was i for sure would of had issues. i know if i went 200 more feet on my back side it would of been going through skin.i am glad he is ok and i kept my self flat feet first arms out and not tumbling.

Vincent,
Are you serious? Looks to me that there's not a straight piece on the bike.
ZX12's do not crash well and I speak from experience.
If it's just a slide, one thing, but when they hit the turf and start tumbling, it's all over

woppi,
thanks for posting the pic, reminds me to avoid crashing whenever possible.

there may be some straight pieces, but it sure looks horrible.

Vincent just wanted to take the opportunity to try to bash zx14's.

If it had been a 14, the front end would not be attached. The frame metal on the 12 is a LOT thicker than the 14 (My guess 30% thicker) and the weakest part of the 14 frame is the Hold where the Air Filter is. Please tell me what is wrong about what I just said? Now I am speaking from Experience.
