Ti vs oem retainers weight diff
for a 12 I measured 16 oem as 143 grams and Ti (APE) as 99 grams
so about 8.9 g vs 6.2
looks as if the pocket for the shim may be deeper aswell? could be an optical illusion due to the lack of the cutouts....

That is a significant difference for the retainer. 31% less. But it wont be as significant % difference if you look at the weight of the sprung assembly. The total mass of all the moving parts is important if you are interested in the harmonics of the system. Scott, can you weigh the rest of the parts? The weight of the moving assembly should be the sum of all these:
valve
collets
retainer
shim
bucket
and half of each spring

ill get that stuff but it will have to be later when i have time. i have some spare parts, some in a junked head. Im not pulling my valves out now. i have 2 weeks to be race ready...
