Texas Mile pic: why I can't use stock screen

'cuz my damn head is too big!!

I did a test pass with the stock screen rather than my normal Double Bubble, and i got some turbulence on my helmet. I wondered if I was really as tucked as i could be???

Luckily a photog got a pic of that pass, and it seems as if my helmet is about as low as it can go.

sooooooo.....

I'll be using the Double bubble, yup!

Pic also shows that the front of the bike is a lil high bc i took off the strap.
The front of the lower fairing should be about 3/4" lower and the space between the RAM Air intake and the fender is too wide (costs me mph).
I'll put the strap back on it for the next race. I don't strap much, just 3/4" inch or so.

The handling was just a titsch twitchy, maybe bc the front was high???

Nice picture, very cool. Nice tuck as well!

I'm not familiar with what's under that cover under your helmet, can you move stuff and get farther down?

I'm short enough to tuck but my stomach won't go there, may have to cut down this extra tank after all !!!!

Great photo.

hey Dean,
I already have modified thefoam a bit in my helmet to allow me to see better; i cringe everytime they look in it for the Snell? sticker.
XXXL helmet is just BIG

The double bubble solves the issue.
or
i could take off what's left of the tank cover, move the junction box, and get an extra inch down.
hmmmmmmmmmm.

Amazing considering the speed you're traveling. Maybe you should take a trip to South America or Africa and find a witch doctor to shrink your head? Tuck problem solved!

I have had a similar problem to you Karl but moving the footrests back on to the swingarm made a big difference and I weigh around 260lbs so definitely TFA teritory.

That picture was taken about half a mile down our new track at Honington, you can see the airshifter ram above the gear change rod but you cant see the cut seat or the cut tank..
We have fairly good braking zones with our tracks,no bends,on that particular day we had seven tenths of a mile braking area so there is no issue in stopping with two fingers just on the front brakes.
Got me to 199.19 mph on the day and was probably good for another 4/5 mph on a perfect run which I never quite made for several reasons.

No logging on that bike other than a wideband but the turbo bike thats nearly finished has the same sump and full motec logging so I will have some figures on that shortly.
