ZX12, Y2K purple, anyone have the receipe?

California Bill says my ever suffering 12 is a filthy disgrace.
At the Texas Mile, he even grabbed a roll of paper towels and some kind of cleaner and started in on it; embarassed to have his bike next to it.

so maybe i'll spruce it up a little.

I have the receipe for the green but not the purple.
Anyone know how to get Y2K purple right?

And please don't suggest Colorwrong; i've been down that road.

Thanks for any help,
Karl

A lot of paint shops now have a machine to check the color and match it if you have a piece thay can take a reading from.

Just go truck bed liner matte black. That's always in fashion. Of course, you may need to get a Mohawk for the top of your helmet in order to roll that kind of paint scheme.

blueshark: i have heard of that process, never seen it in action.

woppi: thanks for the links, but it needs to be REAL specific for Kawasaki

Tim: as usual, great idea, but would i have to learn to do cool wheelies? Does McM-C offer courses?

Why do you need to stay with the stock color anyway. You seem creative enough to come out with a purple the same color as your team fat ass racing insignia that should be painted on your tank.

Bite the bullet and buy new panels. Sell your old ones, save time and frustration. Problem solved.

has anyone had any direct experience with the paint analyzer:

"a Minolta digital spectrometer, which works something like a camera, but instead of producing an image, it analyzes the hues in the sample and produces a readout of color codes."

The spectrometers worked pretty good on some panels my dad had matched. he used to paint bikes on the side and had to have them color matched a few times. The paint shop got it right on most of the time. Wish I had a panel to take to the shop hes used, I would see if they could get a match for you.
