The Miami Mile - 3/14/10

Top Gun Run has organized an LSR event for today at The Miami Mile. Mostly cars, with a few bikes.

I'm currently at the tech line waiting and watching as they set-up the timing lights.

Weather looks good, should make for a nice event.

So far the organizers seem to have a very professional set-up with breakfast and lunch catering, film crew, lights, trophy and speed cert. presentation.

I'll be posting up updates throughout the day, so stay tuned.

Mike, are you running???

Any wind? what temp?

if you are running, go FAST and be safe.

I hope the organizers keep the fast and furious outa the pits this time.
Those nit wits were the only downside when we were there in Jan.

Say hey to Sal, Dale & Bob.

My fairings are still at Lambo of Miami for paint, I guess it wasn't meant to be for me this time either. Oh well, april 10th is a blink away.

Sal and Dale are running, temps in the 80's with nice tailwinds. I'll post up the final speeds later, we're changing sprockets on the stroker busa and fine tuning the 12 in the pits right now.

Busa is now geared for 230mph...

GPS and Lights were spot on.

Dale's bike went 212mph hitting an early rev limiter just before the mile, all motor.

Sal's 1507 went 223mph N/A, making it the fastest 1507 ever to run the mile.

A ford GT went 253mph, making it the fastest car in the mile, dethrowning the 251mph supra.

I'll upload all the pics and whatnot with a full report later today.

i'm guessing that the ford GT was build by HP performance out of Jacksonville. Those guys do some incredible work. Look to see my buddy marcus out there in the near future in his 96 mustang gt sporting a dohc all aluminum 5.4 on twin 62's.

What did the bikes run, officially, through the lights?

Very impressive results!

Those were the speeds on the lights, I'll get the exact tenths from Sal's slips later today and include it in the write up.

Is out of the west a tailwind or a headwind? I saw where you said there was a nice tailwind...

How did Dale run? I'm planning to get that valve stem cap soon.

They flipped the track around...

Dale had wind issues and had to shut down early due to being blown around. He coasted through the lights off the throttle at 170mph. A lot of people were getting pushed around hard by mother nature, she can be a bully sometimes.

A lot happened yesterday, I'll go through every tiny detail in the write up.

So, Sal ran 223 into a headwind? Or was it a tailwind?

did they switch the track direction??

I though we ran from E to West in Jan, and that last weekend you had a west wind?

I am probably upside down on this like plenty of other stuff,
