fuel lines

I had put a gage on one of my fuel lines for trouble shooting and it is bothering me now.I just don't feel right with it teed off and held in place by hose clamps.I want to replace them and want to know what size the zx12r fuel lines are. Are there any other options for it? Does it have to be rated for anything in case I use another type of fuel?(race gas)

They are starting to make fuels a little more fuel line friendly.VP, U4.2 can be safely left in your tank now.(oxygenated,102 octane), but I believe it`s 3/8" fuel line.It is clamped on from the factory so I do not believe it has to be a rated fuel line.

Clamped on is OK if you're using a barbed or beaded fitting.

dont use the normal hose clamps that you can get at a hardware store, use the solid ones made for FI, they will go much tighter before breaking

I remember a guy by the name of Bobby Miller who I had do some work on a GS1100ET.He had this blue fuel lines that he used on all his customers bikes,if you saw the blue, you knew he worked on it. Where can I these solid clamps, any auto store? The tee for the splice is barbed but the connection to the gauge is not.
