From Mojave
Well Karl and I made it to Mojave. I have never been in wind like there is here. I guess that is why all the windmills. The wind is so bad that it knocked out all the electricity. I thought it was because I had too many hair appliances plugged in. LOL......whew.... Tech is tommorrow. Untill then I guess we will just get blown. Did I say that? Will update with pics when I can. I have to say I am glad I don't have my bike here because this wind is unreal. What were these people thinking. Ahhhhh maybe it will be a tailwind. If that is the case then I predict Karl will hit 280 or 300mph no problem. I can't wait to meet more LSR people. I am such a lucky girl!

Ah yes, that famous high desert wind. Just down the road in Rosamond where Willow Springs is located, the wind can get so belligerent that it's been known to blow 10x15 EZup canopies, along with everything that was used to anchor the canopies, across the paddock, over the perimeter fence and onto one of the adjacent tracks. In T8, the crosswinds are so strong, they will knock the front wheel out from under you, which is exciting since T8 is is usually taken in 6th gear. In the city of Lancaster, which is just south of the track, the wind kicks up sand and causes complete whiteouts several times a year.

tcchin, you will be joining us won't you. I am looking forward to meeting you. And I am not kidding about Karl going 300mph if the runway happens to be situated where the wind is at his back. Hell, in this wind I could do close to that without a bike .

Brenda, you better tie a brick around your ankle, you might just blow away in that wind never to be heard from again.

Here are the pictures I took today. http://picasaweb.google.com/brendasue555/MojaveMile#
Maybe someone could make it a link for me. I still haven't figured out how to post. Notice the Karl car copy......we laughed our asses off. Tech went fine, no wind today hopefully no rain tommorrow. California Kid...Bill....is here too, he is a riot. Will update again later. Meet and greet starting in a few minutes followed by drivers meeting. There are more corvettes here than anything, some damn nice ones too.

RACE DAY & I am ANTSY!!!!!!!!
there are a couple bits of rain forecast, but also some tail winds...
GREAT organizers, only 80-90 participants, mostly excellent weather, this is shaping up to be an event I wanna see again, AND they are already planning another race the 1st week in Oct.
who would have thought that that TWO ZX12 owners just had to have a cop car to pull their heaps around

As always, I'm sure your ANTSYness will soon turn into raw ass speed Karl!
Great snapshots Brenda THANKS!
I see Scott about to pay off the inspectors here...

Exciting stuff Karl... best of luck on a safe, fun and fast time this weekend - Deb and I are rootin for and envious of ya bigtime.
Y'all tell Dan Warner that Deb and I said hi if you see him please... and we seriously hope you do (there's a good chance that'll mean you made it in impound),
May the tailwinds be with you...

This is kind of weird. This bikes class is marked as APS-G but it has a nitrous bottle hanging off the side. It is the same bike Todd posted above. Are you allowed to run nitrous in the gas class at Mojave?

Good eye Ryan,
I'm sure you are correct and that (1) it is not legal to run nitrous in a gas class there. Although (2) it is legal to use nitrous to propel your shifter, as well as (3) use a nitrous bottle to store your co2 if you so choose. It's more about where the plumbing goes to then where it comes from. ;-)
I don't know which of the three scenarios is happening in the photo you posted, but there is also the off or unlikely chance that Scott still had his Bonneville class on his bike and the pic was snapped before he, the inspectors or his fellow competitors caught it.
I fell Scott Stites has as high of an integrity level of anyone I've talked to, and let's not forget that (in typical SCTA fasion), that their inspection's are for safety only and any classification infractions "can" wait to be dealt with later in impound.

Todd,
I'm sure you are right about Scott being a stand up guy. I don't know him and I am certianly not trying to accuse him of anything. I'm not there and I don't know the story. Just something that caught my eye.
Also if you look at the picture you posted their is no air-shifter on his bike. Kind of rules out that scenario. Maybe its co2. No biggie to me. Like I said, just something that I noticed.
Regardless, it's a cool bike. I like the fuel tank.
Hope everyone goes fast and has a safe meet.

As of about 10 AM, Karl had run 194 on a short shifted warm up pass and was the fastest bike or car at the meet.
here were some sprinkles and they were on a weather hold.
Brenda's going to update me when there's some more news.

I had a great time at the airport today! Big thanks to Karl and Brenda for allowing me the privilege of hanging out with them.
I think Brenda wants to become a Transformer so she can elope with the "Big Red" Camaro (http://www.bigredcamaro.com) and start a family of Cobalt SS's. As punishment for losing to a car, Karl must grow and maintain a Camaro Mullet until the rematch in October. http://rlv.zcache.com/my_mullet_your_mom_my_camaro_tshirt-p235577660520473514q6vb_400.jpg
One last thing: Let's see if we can get a Bikeland pool going with Jay from APE to purchase one of the surplus F4 Phantoms from BAE before they're all blown up.
