adams pan differences?

ok, I have some old pics from Mr "dont be scared" from a few yrs ago of a Coby Adams pan. I have some new pics of a fairly new Adams pan as Mike(chavcat) was kind enough to let me borrow his so I can copy it with a few small changes. the pan from Mike looks like a very different design. IMO the old style is better

pics from Bergie:

Mikes pan:

the newer one appears to be missing the 2 baffles, has a bigger hole by the pickup, smaller drain holes in the top, and looks like it holds less. IMO, its cheaper to make as there are no baffles (less material, less cutting, less welding) and the bottom is made from one piece thats cut and bent instead of 2 pieces welded together.
for those of you with an Adams pan, does yours look like Bergies or Mikes?

I have an Adams pan and it looks like Bergie's. Only problem I had was the baffle on the extended side came loose and i had to cut the bottom off to be able to weld it back on.

well im going to make it as big as possible, it may hold more than the old style. im changing the baffle thats just behind the pickup aswell. i made a slosh plate or "roof" for my oil pan last yr, i want to bring the baffle up to that so if oil goes back and up (hard squat on launch) it cant go anywhere and has to stay at the pickup. i want to make that baffle a little wider too. ill have pics up hopefully in a week or so of the progress

close to 1.5 in compared to stock Lyndon, but as you can see it wont work with a regular street pipe that goes under the oil pan. which is why i got the SW . compared to the modified pan i ran last season with the shaved bottom and moved drain plug Im gaining about 1 in.

The coby pan is shorter than a brock sidewinder.......

and, with stock ram air......, you wont really be able to lower the bike any more, without running into problems there.......

My front end is lowered 3.5", and my pan is not the lowest point, it is the header by about 1/8 inch.......

with a filter change, it takes me 5 qts.

A turbo set up, could use more clearance........, or possibly a muzzy header, but I think Karl proved in dyno testing....., the muzzy header, on the zx12, is inferior, or at least it was for the header on my bike, which is the one karl tested for Brock, and the original dyno map brock gives out was made for........

If you have transfer punches and a drill press, its easy........

I lowered my front fender almost a half inch.......

Using a zx10 fender now for looks......, lots harder to mount though........

I have a skinny catalyst fender primed and ready to paint if you are interested in it......, looks real good on a low pro tire....., got some lowered brackets for it as well, ........

hit me up if you are interested........

That is the part that holds the oil pickup form falling out, and you need a wall behind it, or the oil is going out of it........

Good point woppi......

K.

Not many around still running these. Doubt it goes anywhere.........

Good luck. You have more time than I do, I need mine back from paint so I can finish it up.

I will get some chassis pics up soon, of the new subframe, etc.
