ZX12Girl....

Hey chickie, I will miss you this year at the Seattle Motorcycle show.
Last time I saw you, you were on two legs.
How are you healing?
Are you going to be castless for christmas?

I want to Know also and you know why!! Are you doing any better in that area?? Over All you will be better off including your leg!

I thought about you after one of my runs at Maxton! I had just changed gearing from 18 / 47 to 18 / 44 . So I knew it would be a Dog leaving the line! So I gave it a few more revs and was a little more aggressive with the Clutch and the Bike came up so fast that it was half way up before even I could believe it! It was at about 75 to 80 degrees before I had it coming back down! I normally ride wheelies for miles! But Not when you are surprised! SO as it was coming back down, I got into it again and it went straight back up! This time I was not "AS" Surprised and controlled it, rode it and made a run (My slowest of the day) 179.9 --. I mentioned this because many of us including me, have a lot of ideas about what you should have done! I never saw the word Surprised in any of their post and after having maybe 20 to 30 runs, and doing what I have done for as long as I have done it, I had my first real surprise!

You are a "LOT" Younger and have less time than I do, so you are entitled to a few more surprises in your learning curve! You know what I have been through, so you know how much I am pulling for you! Stress makes the leg heal! give it some stress! as much as you can stand!! Vincent A>>

I'm doing fine!!!

Well, My leg is still freaking broke. It is healing very slow , but no suprise to me. I busted it up pretty good. I am still missing alot of bone - up to a 2" chunks that have to grow back. I am THE CRUTCH QUEEN...LOL....5 months of practice so far on 4 legs!!!

I'm sure that I will be back on my bike by spring (Broke leg or not...smile). I did get to ride my little YSR50 a couple times. I could have rode my ZX12R this fall but I did not want to risk it! I could just picture getting a little off balance and not being able to hold the bike up! then BBBBaammmm....$5k in repair to my bike.

Vince - I do understand the "Stress" part. I walk on my leg all the time and walk with my crutches. I am back to work and I am going at it with the same pace as before! That's why I do not get on here to much....Busy as hell!!

I have managed to work one of the screw out about 1/2" so far. I am in contious discomfort because I overdue it all the time, but I think that is what made it start healing.

Thanks again for all the kind words and advice Vince!!! Glad you became a member over here!!!

And Princess - we will head your way one of these years!!! I want to go to the Race out there!!!

It is a small procedure to remove the lose screw! remove it!

Another war Story (Short) in 1971 I broke my left Femur and was in traction 67 days at the Hospital! Again slow healing! I had a brace on my leg and unlocked it to take a ride on my H-1 500 When I returned, I went to put my left leg down and hung it up (Remember Bell Bottoms) on the foot Peg and fell over on the leg with the bike on top of me! I went back to the Hospital and found that I had injured the leg but not broken it completely! 3 weeks later the X-Rays showed I had more healing in those 3 weeks than the previous 3 months! In 1 more month I was out of the brace and walking again!

Hurting your leg is good for it! Deal with it but get the lose screw OUT!!

Hey Vince - My Dr. just said the same thing today. I told him how much I am using it and he said that use it as much as I can stand (with-out putting all my weight on it and cracking more bone)

Thanks for the advice....

Oh! and just ignore Kzz1's post's....he has way too much time on his hands over the winter months.

What did the Doc Say about removing the lose screw! (Unnecessary Pain and no gain) You need to use up your pain tolorance on stressing the Bone! You Seriously need to resolve that other problem (Yesterday) And you would have been healed a few months ago! Hard to do? What are you going through that is so easy?? You got no support from me for slowing your healing! I gave up a few things also but being twice your age, only got me back to your level! I am still amazed that people almost 60 can heal, let alone grow a few inches Of "Leg" Bone! (For the smart Asses, way to late there also!)
