zx12r stock rods. J or K?
which oem rod is the better part? the early style K rod or the later style J rod? there is a 9 gram weight difference with the Js being lighter.
Doug, you may remember me buying a used J rod from you last summer for dads bike and we (local machine shop) had to lighten the 3 K rods to match.

Never heard of any problems with either.
Muzzy used stock rods in some big HP bikes.

me either, but had one guy say the early rods may be better?
if they are equal in strength i would like to get a set of the lighter rods. this way i would have a slightly faster revving motor, and a back up crank with rods fitted and ready to go.

Scott, I dont know if theres a strength difference. I never compared the two.

No difference at all. It's just a weight code. You can actually use both in pairs with no noticeable effect.
(1-2 same and 3-4 same)

Mike has helped me out in the past, great guy for sure.
I dont need any K rods right now, but Ill probly look for 4 of the J rods when i put my 4mm crank in. then i have the Ks allready on my stock crank fitted with bearings and ready to drop in just incase
