A couple pics of the 12 on a diet

Just put the Dymags on, it's already got the Carbon Kevlar tank, only thing else for now is a speedcell battery. I think that's about as light as I can get it without carbon wheels. Almost ready for surgery.....going in for a 1257 Sal Special. Won't be quite as strong as you other guys with the 1287's, but I'm sure there won't be anything over here that can touch it.

A couple other bits I forgot to mention, It's got good brakes, galfers with brembo mc, but I'm going for the PFM superbike brakes, superlight and you can stop a freight train with em.
Also a geiger sport set of triple clamps with adjustable offsets, really nice stuff.

The extra 30cc's will not be noticable, you're talking about a few hp at the most.

The +2mm engine will have more gasket material and wall thickness between cylinders, making it more reliable and able to handle more abuse. Perfect for a healthy shot of nitrous if the need ever arises.

Not to mention the pistons are lighter...

Sal has a 1.5mm overbore on his PERSONAL 1348cc busa... And it regularly outperforms everything under a 1507 stroker busa at the track. So don't feel you're leaving something on the performance table that us 1287 guys picked up. Depending on the application, the added toughness of the 2mm engine is more desireable than 1mph more top speed.

Keep us all posted on the build-up! Sounds like you're building a SERIOUS 12R over there!

Is that a real carbon tank? I had one made for my zx11 when I had it but I left it unpainted.
Just LOVE the look of real carbon

Don't think they make them anymore as I picked it up about 5-6 years ago. Sorry, I am no help, but Shiphteey has had his eye on it for a while.
