Just got home from FL...my weather is a little different here:

A few people have asked me about the exhaust, here is a close-up pic:

The header is a Muzzy Pro Pipe. Custom carbon fiber muffler made by Area P.:

Later on I will post up a sound clip. It's pretty mellow at low rpm.

Brothers, born 5 years apart:

If I could combine the 14's setup with the 12R's motor...that would be pure gold. As it stands, that will have to wait a couple of seasons.

A while back Halvefast loaned me his GoPro Hero camera to test. I never got to the track with it, but I went ahead and bought it planning to fiddle with it next year. I made a quick test vid today, and I have to say that I am impressed with the video quality:

I will have to play with the audio a bit, but I like what I am seeing so far. If you watch and listen closely you can see me go for the clutchless shift to 7th (yet again). Man, I have got to get used to this bike! It is very smooth, and really pulls through the higher gears.

It's pretty chilly out today, but I did put 45 miles on the bike. I need to get my cold weather gear out. About 150 miles on her now.

Camera mounted, with quick release mount:

Obviously, for high speed runs you would want to relocate it to somewhere "tuck friendly". But for experimenting, this was fine.

Glad to you you riding your bike I know you cant wait to open it up again !!!
I see your holding that bad boy back and most likely due to the surface of the streets taking it very easy on the revs shifting at 9,500 RPM range.
Also I would guess your bike is a bit on the lean side due to leaving mid 80 air temp to
where you are at.
Good luck and have fun.

Yeah, it was damp and even sandy in some spots today. But I'd like to get some miles and another oil change on it before the really cold stuff comes in. Tomorrow night is going to be 21 degrees!

Soon I will have the DL-32 on it, and I will be able to check the tune here.

Btw, you're right about being anxious to open it up again!

There is no ice, just some wet and sandy spots. From what I can calculate with the gearing, tire, and rpm...the bike was going around 145-150 mph actual. I am really trying to take it easy on it for now.

The strap will squeeze in between the damper and steering head.

i put mine between the tank cover and the damper post. either way will work it seems. i never take mine off anymore so i guess i could go the way shane did between post and head. i was worried about it going into it.
enjoy your new toy. i can not wait to see what you can do with it. sounds like it hauls ass.

A few more miles over the last couple of days:

The new motor was installed at 22595 miles, so I now have 225 miles on the new build. I have went through 3 oil changes and 2 filters at this point (initial oil and filter, oil and filter at 46 miles, and fresh oil only at 150 miles).

I threw the LM-2 on the bike today, just to watch a/f a little:

Everything looks good so far.

Yesterday I went for a brief ride in the afternoon, and I managed to accidentally have a hair-raising wheelie at about 160 mph while cresting a little hill at over 11k rpm under power. I had the GoPro on the bike recording, but somehow I only had it taking pictures every few seconds. As much as I wished I had the video, I didn't feel like trying to recapture that moment.

Speaking of the GoPro, it is pretty neat. Here is a snapshot it took during yesterday evening's ride:

I'm having a little fun with the bike now, even though it is fairly cold outside...during today's ride it was about 35 degrees F. I've had this bike since the beginning of '04, when it had just 5330 miles on it. It's nice to be riding it again.

Yeah, me too...this bike feels pretty darn fast. I just have to figure out how I want to set it up, and for what purpose.

One the one hand, keeping it shorter is better for LSR. On the other hand, it would be nice to see what it can really do at the dragstrip.
