Well, it seemed like it was making good power anyway (even on a 40 shot, that is good mph at your weight, imo).

Looks like a valve job for the winter, I suppose?

Yes that was with a 40shot with 700psi in the bottle it was cooold. still stock swing arm
usually get 156+ with nitrous and 145+ with pump gas.

I'll start working on a the tear down after taxes. i don't think I'll have the money to put in my 1287kit. so I'll just fix what broke degree the cams and so on

So, I took the bike in for some dyno tuning. I'll avoid the long story...but suffice it to say that I had to take the bike in twice due to my own errors. I had some airbox and throttle body leaks, from a rushed assembly of parts.

I took the bike to RnR Cycles in Sterling, Virginia:

http://www.rnrcycles.com

Rick Beggs is the shop owner and he is a great guy to deal with. I was pressed for time this week, and he even offered to look at the bike on Thanksgiving Day. I don't think you can beat that level of service.

When I took the bike in, I knew that I wasn't going to focus on "big" dyno numbers. I have been told by several good tuners that what looks best on the dyno is not usually the best for real world performance.

With that being said, here is my "big" dyno number:

Bike setup is MR9 Fuel, Brock's CT Header (no muffler), Factory Pro Short Stacks, No Air Filter. I could just leave it at that...and it would certainly be a very respectable #.

Now, that pull looks great on paper...and I am sure it would run fantastic as well. But I wanted a little more fuel, for racing. I had been running the Brock's Maxton Map for most of the season. My new map is similar in peak power, but should be better at the track. The weak, and overly rich spots are gone...and there is significantly more torque in some lower rpm areas.

I think that the combination of short velocity stacks and no muffler is not the best for smooth power delivery down low. We'll see at the track tomorrow.

As an added bonus, my Ti pipe is now nicely colored:

My Power One is also broken in:

This tire gets very sticky, and I bet it won't need a long burnout at all.

Anyway, lots of work to do in the (cold) garage. More updates tomorrow evening when I get home from the track.

No, Scott. It wasn't really a concern of mine. This exhaust tip will not be staying on the bike...and to be honest, the shape of the power curve is very near identical to what my other pipe and meg combo showed. I doubt there would have been a benefit to removing the tip. Perhaps I will see one with a properly designed megaphone, which is the plan.

It should be adequate for now.

Thanks, Todd. I'm anxious to get the logging set up this winter so I can put a "track tune" on it, under load.

Racheal also had a new personal best at 9.49, footshifting her warhorse GSXR. Her first 9.4....a nice way to close out the season.

I'll try to get some pics and/or vids up tonight.
