pressure sensor, TChin beat Innovate to it

My heap was eating oil pressure sensors, so Dr. Chin advised me to take it off the direct mount on the motor, mount it somewhere else using flexible tubing. I did that and voila, no more dead sensors.

Last night i opened a package from Innovate containing a new pressure sensor (for fuel pressure), and noticed that now Innovate/RTD has a new note in big, bold red letters:

"Note: Sensor warranty is void if sensor is directly mounted to the engine block. Use appropriately rated line/hose to isolate the sensor from extreme vibration."

cool

Tim Chin beat em to it

Mine ate a couple of oil pressure sensors too. I have a third one mounted in the same place. I'll move it before I put the engine back in the bike.

Thanks!

The first time I used it, it would work fine with the bike on the stands, but would stop working within ten seconds of rolling out of pit lane. After the third track session, it would not power up again. I tried several different power sources, and still could not get it to power up. Once it was removed from the rest of the LM-1/LMA-2 setup, the system worked normally again and my data quality improved dramatically. I'm waiting for Innovate to send me an RA number so I can have it repaired under warranty.

Tim,
you know electronics as well or better than anyone here.
It must be broken, Innovate will make it good.

On the other hand, the XD16 is just about the same diameter as a sledge hammer...

I'm thinking maybe some microwave reprogramming is in order. What do you think, about 15 minutes on high?
