hey guys... I think no matter what way you slice it, its upsettting when we hear about one of our own passing away while doing something we love. Its a hard fact that we enjoy a sport that dangerous. We try to do the right thing and take it off the street, but at the end of the day its a dangerous thrill we crave and the faster you go the more fun it is,,, so the harder we try...... sorry to hear the loss....everybody race safe!!!

God speed GUY.
my first time at maxton i did not think it was as bad as some said it was. when i realized (for me anyway) that just pushing down enough on the rear brake to feel the bike slow down before the slight turn was just fine. after letting off i found i still had to drive the bike at 80 or so till i got to the end to turn off. no way was i going to push my luck trying to make the first turn off.
best wishes to the family

Ive never had a problem making the first turn off at Maxton. I have made it from a 180+ run and did stress it some but no problems. After that I just coasted to the second turn off, and had to get back on the gas to get there. If high speed turns stress you, coast to the end. I think for the 12 guys we have an advantage because of superior handling of the bike. Fatalities in the last couple years do have one thing in common, they were on Busa's.

I am sure that is a joke, but it's in bad taste.

DocsNinja,
While I agreed 100% on your earlier post I disagree 100% here.
Like Karl said, if it's a joke, it's sure not funny. If you were serious then you need to think about the fastest bikes at Maxton have always been 'Busa's. Thousand's of passes have been made there on those bikes, they probably out number the 12's at least 10 to 1.
That being said, the two fatalities were most likely due to the riders part whether it be medical issues or inexperience at that track........certainly not the design of the 'Busa or the handling of that bike.
We've lost two fellow riders in a sport we love. Let's never forget them or their families.
