I guess you won't need water injection for them low budget high boost turbos, LOL.
Ouch, Turbo 14 was not happy.
Sal and/or Phantom if you get a chance let us know how things ran, tech, track, conditions, ect.
Thanks,
Gary

He didn't mention it one way or the other....he just made sure to point out that it was much more humid than the 9/10ths...which is much more humid than Maxton.
I'd like to hear more details but I smashed my cell phone and can't call him back till tomorrow.

The Florida Mile went rather well considering the faulty timing equipment and record heat.
There was a great turn out from spectators, much larger than either Texas or Maxton from what I remember. I guess that could be attributed to the significantly larger local population of Miami? Either way, it was most definately a "Car Thing" this first event. I blame that mainly on the fact that motorcycles were not originally going to be a part of this event. By the time bikes were allowed to sign up, most of the 120 slots were taken.
Many of the Big Dogs from the 9/10th's were at the track showing support. I spoke with most of them and they all tried to sign up, but were too late. Shame, these guys are SERIOUS players ..... a handful of battle hardend tried and true 200+mph'ers on 1000's and Busa's. They should be out in full force in Jan., should be a damn good shootout!
Now if we can get the TFA guys (Karl, Doug, Gary, Rich, Mike) to come down with Ali, we should have the MOTHER OF ALL KAWASAKI SHOOTOUTS. Maybe Greg Williams will grace us with the presence of "Chance"?
Tech Inspection went well, there were only 4 bikes running. Same Tech rules as Maxton.
The timing equipment issue will most definately be resolved by the next event.
Just for reference, 179mph on the timing equip was 191mph on GPS. The heat was a major factor, being in the low 90's and smack in the middle of the Florida Everglades Humidity didn't do us any favors.
The track itself is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Clean, NEW, smooth, straight, flat, and SUPER WIDE.... couldn't ask for anything better from the surface. Burnouts WERE allowed, so traction wasn't an issue for anyone. The full 1 mile shutdown was nice too.
The bikes got in about 4-5 passes, but the last hour allowed for hotlapping so they really could have had double that amount if they wanted.

Sounds promising!!
Burnouts? Hell yeah!!
I'd love to be able to launch my 14 at an LSR type event...if nothing else, it would be fun.

No traction spray, but then again, its not needed with LSR wheelbases so long as you do a good burnout. In LSR you'd want the traction spray to be on the backhalf anyway... And that's a 1/2 mile stretch.
Shane, throw the 40 shot on the 14 and jump in the mix! Maybe teach Ali a lesson in Natural Aspiration?
