some how my 1.55 60ft seems to be slow. i need to start getting them a lot before i can adjust for lower 60s. maple grove this weekend. genes 98 zx9 with the rare borla exhaust hit 115 in the 1/8th but only 132 mph on top. we need to sort it out jetting wise.
shane if you can get below .020 with all those 9.0s you will get a win. i won my race mostly on reaction time but i was still real close to my number. you will go rounds.

Dennis, I think that low 1.5's would be considered pretty good at your wheelbase...maybe a high 1.4 is the best you will see??

I am pretty sure I will do a little bracket racing next season. Something different....

get a good reaction time and your numbers will get you places. it usually is a long day though. and if you are thinking about the things you could be doing then you know. i was like that getting pissed spending 60 bucks to go two test runs and get knocked out first round with my car. i do not bracket race my bike much but i have one win. i like that.

was a jersey bike gang event at maple grove. it was a mix of people that went to check it out and racers wanting all the runs for 40 bucks. i find most bike riders are not as good on the tree as the car guys. the ones with less things to do in the front half seem to have better reaction times.like bar and slick bikes. u get below 020 and things will work out usually if your bike is on.most bikes seem to be around 040 in my area anyway. i have been told to come out to the et series races but honestly i have more fun haveing fun. i am raceing my self every run unless you piss me off. then reaction time for a dollar.(that way bike to bike is always not a issue) if you are smart you will not even leave and watch me bulb with a -002 and laugh all the way to my dollar. it is fun.
bike gang was icons. just remembered.

I think I will be able to handle the long day. Friday at MIR I made 37 passes. I actually strained my left forearm from the all day clutch pull.

No...but there is lower rpm when I come off the clutch and need to power through 1st gear....I guess it depends on what you consider "lower".

Look for any "small" tuning issue that might affect 60/330' times:

See anything that might be less than optimal??

Yeah, thats what I am talking about, its not the motor, is the left hand.

you should see the rpm lines on the lock ups I tune on......, thats why I can get a 3.80 330 out of a 1.47 60 ft.

That's not the rpm line....that's the air/fuel all over the place!!

It's from my last dyno pull...

A 3.80 on a 1.47 is great...but I'm still happy with my 3.79-3.81 on a 1.45. I know they are worlds apart...but with a proper tune and some more seat time I'm sure I'll get there.

just watched the video, you can still hear that rpm drop......., but once the motor is tune, it might go away, but it sounds like some of it is the left hand............

Give it a go, and let us know........

Cooler air, and you should be there

Do you have a pic of the RPM line?

It should go up at a angle, in dang near a perfect straght line......, in theory.

It's a basic Brock's map...but my intake/exhaust setup is not standard. It needs tuned, like I said.

I'm not looking for a new clutch...

One other thing, NOX...you said:

quote:

You have seen the vids of 1.38s and 3.80 330s, and 1.47s and 3.80 330s, etc, and 5.80 at the 1/8. That was the Gen 1 MTC.

Sorry, but one final thing...well looking at those #'s....I mean, they are practically the same as what I am hand clutching now (the 330' and 1/8th numbers). My bike is a hair under 65" and I am over 220 lbs. suited, with a lackluster tune on the motor.

So...you can imagine what is running through my mind...just how good can my numbers get? They don't seem to be too bad for a stock motor bike.

Except that you have more HP, and lighter wheels, mine was with stock wheels

Its like I told you, think what you can do when you get it even better......

You are doing well, but there is room for improvement. Not bashing.

That bike is gonna fly when you get it lined out.

I would not waste time at the track anymore till its tuned. It will affect how you ride it, and it will just be a waste of time.......

Get it mechanically right, then take it out, and let it eat.

Good luck. Like I said , I was not bashing before........

I agree 100% about getting the tuning right. I'm planning to take care of that in the next couple of weeks.

No worries, I find that most of us around here are opinionated and edgy at times. I like to combine the two traits, for max effect. I think it is the nature of the beast...we are all high strung thrill seekers to an extent..
