02 fuel pump in 00 bike

Anyone using a 02 and later fuel pump in a 00 with the OEM 00 fuel rail, ecu etc?

no sure how that would work. the 02 and up have the regulator in the fuel tank as part of the fuel pump cluster. or do you mean just pulling the pump unit itself and putting it in the 00 fuel sending cluster? that should work, but i'd throw it on a dyno to make sure the afrs stay the same. i know tht kawasaki put better pumps in the 2nd gen so it may change things up

Why do you want to do that?
There is a walbro (muzzy) upgrade for the 00/01 that is better than the 02 pump.

because he cant use the 00/01 pump in a catalyst tank

in that case, use the 2nd gen pump and just cap off the regulator return off the fuel rail.

There are several benefits to a loop fuel system vs a dead end system.

I would try and stay with the loop style.
