Hand slider? You mean multistage mode? I can probably figure what caused it.........
What bike did you have it in? When you say clutch rod, do you mean pull rod?

when you get the instructions you'll have an option to set up as both a slider and hand clutch. you have to use the stall springs to set the rpm and use the pull rod to disengage the clutch as if it were a regular hand clutch

Doug Ray has one, Paul Stuart will have the other......, you have one, and that leaves two more........
Doug has not installed his.......
I understand what you are talking about, I think you may have had too much weight on the arms for that rpm app.
I may be wrong, I gotta get my hands on one. I have tuned the Gen II's, but have not laid hands on a gann or Hays.
I am really looking forward to it.

it broke on the lift. the owner thought it would feel like a regular clutch, but it won't depending on how much stall spring pressure you apply. he is using the medium springs turned down so that the slider engages at a higher rpm which in turn leaves the clutch a little disengaged until it reaches that rpm so it doesn't require too much from the handle to fully disengage. I hope this makes since. Just the way I see it sorry for the lack of technical terms

In slider mode you shouldn`t need to pull the lever in at all if setup right....
I never pull my lever in at the end of a pass untill speed/rpm`s are low....

Yeah, on any pull rod type clutch, you DO NOT pull in the clutch lever at high RPM (slider type/ Hays), or wheel speed, (Gen I type single or multi stage lock up)
Unless I am reading wrong. First time I thought he meant they were breakin on the starting line......

Shouldn`t be a whole to get figured out if the stall springs get set right....With us running stock motors we/me won`t be spinning the tire past 330' when it locks up....
2 day turn around on Tim tranferring parts from one to another so it won`t be long....New trans., new clutch system yee haaw.....

So what was the problem? There is no reason it should have broken the rod just up on the lift.......

you only need about an 1/8 inch lever movement to fully disengage the clutch. we adjusted and adjusted and adjusted til we had too much tension on the rod and the clutch wouldn't engage, but we didn't know because the bike was on the lift. one squeeze then pop. broke the head right off

I am going to use mine primarily in slider mode......I`ve ridden several slider dragbikes and loved it.....Should be alot easier on parts to....Well my lockup was ALMOST setup like a slider anyways......A 2step would really come in handy with this setup if it`s legal in the class you run in.....
