ZRXDean and the 14!

Congrats on being the rider of the fastest zx14 !
Dean,
Did Gregs 14 have the water to air intercooler kit?

What do you think of it?
I am considering intercooling but not sure what direction to take.
The 14 has limited space.

Thanks,
Lyle

Lyle, the 14 was not intercooled at Loring. It was my first ride on a ZX14, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it felt pretty good to me, lotsa torque, a Cadillac compared to the 10. Once he gets it completely sealed, and intercooled, it will go faster.

For a 14, I'm not sure you absolutely need intercooling unless you want to achieve ludicrous power on pump gas.

Greg (Karl his email list his name with just 2 Gs?) has been nothing but straightforward with me, so if I can help at Maxton or Texas or wherever, I'm happy, hell who wouldn't want to ride a 400hp ZX14?

Dean

Thanks Dean.
With smaller turbo's the problem seems to be intake temps build up pretty quick, then of course EGT and combustion temps get out of control as a result.

I am still poking around, but have small NOS shot in mind as intercooler for now!
That should reduce the IAT ! LOL
I am using a CO2 or NO2 system (2.5lb capable ) for the air shifter anyway, so i am 1/2 way there already!

Greg has always been very good to me as well, and so my perspective is the same as yours.

Thanks
Lyle

Yikes, I'd go with air-air or water-air before nitrous Playing with fire IMHO.

Shane I can't make the October Texas event, but I'd like to go in March if possible.

what turbo and how efficient in the compressor?
if you're not on the peak eff. island then tweak a bit with inducer/exducer sizes (trim) or clipped wheels to get you on the money.

more eff. = less heat
