Brenda, Can't help with the damper, but I have a tether switch you can have, or I can show you how to make one cheap. Let me know if you are interested.

Brendasue- have you consulted with doug as to which gearing you should run @ the mile?
Do you have a goal set for yourself, or are we just gonna have a great time going fast? :~)

No I have not..............you mean I am only going to use some of my gears? I think I will go faster if I use them all. But reguardless I am going to have fun going fast and yes i have goals..........go as fast as I can, which I am sure will not be anywhere near as fast as the bike can go, and stay alive to tell about it. Rich you are so cool to help me out and I certainly do appreciate it.... by the way, you dont have a metal chain guard I can borrow do you? Thanks again for everything.

Yep, I'll grab that too!
Gearing I meant to be, what size sprockets will you be using,
I think I can grab a -1 which I believe is 44T.
Do you know what the front and rear sprockets are now?

A lot of it was hand work and it did take a few hundred hours i think. I will post new pics soon because I have had the rear part repainted and now I truelly love it. The paint work was done by my cousin, he is so good. He does a lot of the car racers paint around San Antonio raceway. His name is Mark Keller and I just love his work. He also has done my husbands R/C cars and boats. He is doing a helmet for us right now.
