Racheal's New Naked Bike It runs. Checked the following:
Drain and inspect oil
Remove and inspect plenum
Check plugs
Inspect Turbo inlet
Inspect wheels, forks, and tires
Good enough for a test run:
The kill tether was still attached to the bike, so I am concerned about bearing damage. The cord was completely intact, with no damage, and in the bike. The clasp was still on her glove. The steel ring came apart, or was pulled apart. This is a pretty big concern, and I will be switching to a Pingel kill as I feel it is more trustworthy based on the design.
After I inspect the bike better I will take it on the road to better load the engine. We were aleady chasing some mechanical issues prior to the spill, so I need to work on those as well.

Definitely a steel ring. However, I believe the ring on this tether was too weak. Compounding that problem is that most kill switches are only designed to be pulled from one direction. If the bike spins away from the rider, or vice versa, I can see where it would take much more force to pull the cord out of the switch.
I will be documenting this and posting it online so that we can hopefully all learn something.

Debbie had completed a 212 mph pass, but I believe her road speed was less when she and the bike went down (she was near the entrance to long shutdown at Maxton). Deb could add more to this, as I don't really recall the exact numbers. She was still moving at a good clip, though.
Both riders were very lucky.
I'm sure I will find a lot of bent parts on the bike. It will get a thorough inspection.

Shane, Tell Racheal to hand back your
"Ball ast" U da Lady Rach! I know just how much fun this can be, but the difference was when I was doing my falling off there was usually a few people to either run over me or stop on me. One even apologized later and said he was sorry that he had to accelerate over my chest but he did not want to lose any more positions! (Ponoco 1982 AMA 250 RR)
