Depends on the head and cams......

As well as the comp ration.

the mtc pistons are 14.7 to 1

JE s are only 13.5 to 1

my guess for a pump gas motor like im running is around 180 std? im sure lots more could be had by a professional build, or one done for an all out NA setup. I did a few things to hurt power to make it safer for nitrous....
dont worry so much about HP, shoot for MPH

Scott - I agree the mph tells the real story. I hear ~ 190 for a good motor is expected.

Exactly what combination are you refering to?

Who's porting the head?
What cams?
What compression?
What cam degree #'s?

Of course there are a dozen other variables that will dictate power, such as seat pressure, squish, exhaust system, fuel type, etc.... but the main 4 questions will get us in the ballpark.

Also, as KZscott said... it's not about the dyno, it's about MPH. Generally speaking, the fastest pound for pound bikes do NOT make the most power due to the differences in tune required for the track vs what the dyno will "like".

If you go by what the dyno likes, you'll never see 100% potential at the track..

With that being said, the highest 1270 hp reading I've seen was Blais Cycle's "Mega 12". Muzzy +2.4mm pistons, Muzzy race cams, big head, race fuel, happy dyno, STD correction, no filters, etc.... 215rwhp on a DJ250.

Sad part is that the bike was a pig! Even with 215rwhp STD, a slew of carbon fiber parts (including wheels!), and a 140lb former 12 year veteran AMA Superbike rider..... it only went 193mph FLAT OUT.

Head was hogged out for "flow" and big numbers on the dyno and the fuel was very lean to make big numbers as well.

Just something to consider when shopping around for builders who make big HP claims... BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!

Eg. Deck height .037 using 2 base gaskets, off the shelf JE pistons, cams 106/108. Not sure of final comp. Head to be CNC'd.

The Blais Bike you are refering too also had an aftermarket / custom carbon fiber intake Ram snorkel. That also hurt big end power and A/F. When you enlarge the volume of the intake tube(s) (Ram Mouth), you will LOOSE ram pressure over 150 mph. The ECU will "see" this and pull more fuel away!

MY 1270:

Stock head with "Cleaned up and smoothed" intake ports only, Stock cams degreed 105.5 in. / 100 ex., 14:1 CR (Muzzy JE's w/o base gasket / .027 Piston to head).
12.7-.8 - 1 A/F with Muzzy Pump and 330cc injectors, BMC Race filters.

I run 91 pump and will still get 190 RWHP on a bad day/ dyno. Peak torque 111 ft. lb. ..100 ft. lb. by 4,000 rpm. Best #s on Dyno ever was 202 h.p.

Psycho are your pistons 85 or 86 mm? Very impressive #'s to say the least!
What are your thoughts on a 13/4:1A/F ratio with Mzzy pump and OEM injectors?
Was the 202 on pump gas or race fuel?
Thanks

Chavcat; All tuning and driving on 91 Chevron.

Turbobike; Last I knew, the bike was not even geared for Top end. Mr. Santafe has it set up for mile high 1/4 mile running.

Well, I think it is currently geared for 186mph. For the drags he is geared for maybe 170ish.

Just stirring it up!! LOL!!
