Piss & Moan
I just wanted to piss and moan about my area's weather lately!
It just plain sucks.
Rain in 2.5 sessions. Bachelor party's on another. Wedding on another. Oh wait. More rain.
Now, a new one,.........."It's too cold". WTF?!?!?!
dammit, I want to race!
Oh well, it gives me time to do some video I guess.....
PS. Ordered a new chain and 16/44 sprockets. Sprockets came in today.

Last year we were hammered in the Northwest with rain early in the season and it never really let up until spring. We are having an Indian Summer this year. The evenings are cool but the days have been awesome. For a change we have had weather worth bragging about. Of course I am certain this will change shortly.

Bergie,
The first time Chad beat Keith he went up to him and said "I just wanted to let you know that I have a poster of you on my bedroom door" Chad about wigged out that he raced and beat Keith. Keith was very congenial and has even offered Chad advice. Good bunch of guys.

Yeah Keith and all the K&N guys are really cool. when they are not on the road they are at "midnight madness" our local friday night bracket series always stirring up fun. Keith is famous for calling out busas and zx12s with his "all I want is the kick" line.. for a heads up race with any one of their 600s in the K&N stable of bikes.. its so funny to him take out newbies with 180hp bikes!

funny story Berg!
Dan, that 4.08 and 1.51 are some kick ass short times man!! Major congrat's to the little man!
It's awesome to hear that he's running that lil 600 at 9.8! That's freakin' awesome. I was thinking he was still in the mid-high 9.9's.
Tell him I said good damn job! He'd beat a lot of 12's up to the 1/8th mile!

You guys Suck! lol!
Got lucky and raced at Edgewater yesterday. Had no traction problems with the Schinko (starting to really love this tire!) BUT I had wheelie problems like never before! (where does it end?)
Ran a 9.44 @ 149.8mph as my last run of the night. My 60' was a very sad 1.67. A full tenth off of what it should have been!
S'alright though, a bad day racing is better than a good day at work!!

BA,
Last nights results were not good but it sure was fun.
The air temperature was great, in the 50's but the track temp hurt us and it was SLICK. Chad could not leave hard without blowing the tire off. He spent most of the night practicing on the 600 and only made 3 passes on his 12. His best for the night was a 9.50 with a 1.76 short time but he went 151.70mph, his map is rich and it showed! His last pass we dropped the rear tire pressure and he did a John Force burnout. His 60' was a 1.61 but the bike came up quick and set down crooked....he 'bout lost it. Anyway we only wish that he could have made a full pass with the decent launch. That's it for this season, I HATE cold weather.

BA,
Chad corrected me and showed me his time slip, the speed was 152.70mph.
I LOVE these 12's, he has not even had his cam cover off to adjust the valves yet.....they are awesome bikes. Almost as quick as the worlds fastest motorcycle, the Hyshabusy..Hishiboosa..Hiyabuesha...nevermind.

BA, I feel your pain. I was at the shootout today and I could not get my shit together. I put a clutch cushion in last night and didn't even get to ride it before the shootout. I made 3 PITYFULL 9.53-.58 passes @147mph with 1.62, 1.64, 1.67 60's. This was in high humidity into a 10-15mph head wind but still, it was pathetically slow. Just two nights ago I was going 149mph on every pass but my 60's were way off. My best on only decent run friday night was a 9.48@149.55 with a 1.64 60'. About a tenth off in the 60' and ET. Funny thing is, my 330' is more then a tenth and a half off on almost all passes. A good 330' for me is 4.08-4.11. I was 4.200 on nearly every pass. Today i did hit a 4.189 one time. I don't know what my problem is. Maybe something is in the air. I did get to meet Mad MIke, Kawachan(sp?), KREXKEN and several other guys. All were very cool to hang with, down to earth guys that like racing for fun like me. I am gonna play with my clutch setup, really stiffen it up to force me to dump it instead of sliding it and hopefully I will get some good weather soon. I THINK that if I get some good, cool air, my 60's back in the 1.56s and maybe some Nutec, I will be back in the .30s. Talk to you guys later

with your MPH Alan, I have no doubt that you can hit the 9.3x's again with a solid 60', cool air and nutec!

Well, my mph is part of my problem. Its missing. Last winter, I was going 150-151.70 on every pass. I could miss gears and still run 149. All summer my mph was only in the 147-149mph range. Friday night the temps were in the low 80s which is good for here and my mph was 149 most of the night but there was a slight tail wind, maybe 5mph gusts. Sunday the humidity was up and a 10mph head wind and I couldn't go over 147mph. I HOPE its just the temps and my crappy riding thats hurting the mph. I have over 14k miles on it and a LOT of abuse(twisties, burnouts, wheelies etc) but it still runs ok and spark plugs look perfect. I dynoed a few months ago and the air fuel ratio was still dead on at 12.8-1. We will see. I am gonna put in some mondo heavy clutch springs that will force me to dump the clutch, and hit the strip next sunday, hopefully we will cool off a tad. I want consistant 9.30s and then I may put a 30 shot on it and shoot for 9.teens, all on stock wheelbase and tire. WE will see. Later

wow Alan.
Everything you said could have come right out of my own mouth. I've had the same problems this year with mph being off 1-2, sometimes 3. I didn't hit 150+ as much last year as I hit 149 and change, but this year I'm just NOT hitting either as much as I think I should. I have about 11,500 miles and I've YET to get my valves adjusted. Just too busy and not sure where to take it! I abuse my bike too, , but on the flip side, I check/change oil and clutches regularly and use a quality synthetic always.
Similar goals, similar challenges, similar problems, hell, you're even an "Alan" even if you do spell it wrong! heheh
