I just talked to Cheese; he said Gary's turbo is outa the shop and on the trailer, ready to come down to Mo City tonight with BrendaSue.

The stars are starting to align

With a lil luck, we'll put Mo City in the rearview mirror about 10pm tonight.
(i am jazzed, wish we could leave right NOW!)

Hah, thanks for the cake, saved the 200 part for last!
Right before you got the cake I heard Deb mumble something about "Fatten him up for the kill".

Got a solenoid ordered up today and swapped both sprockets. Decided while I was at it to clean up my remaining greasy sprockets. Trying to get the bodywork on tomorrow but not until the clutch gets done first.

Then its on to finishing up the trailer lights and wiring since its been deteriorating throughout the years.

Glad to see you're ahead of the game as usual - at least you make it up in the way you drive - lol

Its been so long since my bike had bodywork I may not recognize it, hah.

Yeah, you're bike is like my ex wife... most definetly better looking with it's clothes on.

Deb, just got off the scale: 119 lbs in boxers and a tee shirt. Thats AFTER 2 plates of chinese food, ice cream and a slice of apple pie....don't be JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jealous?.... Hell I seen her scale reading the other morning and I may have to call you fatso this weekend. Then again the weight of her bike compared to yours would be her way into TFA.

What.... the green pipe bomb isn't coming to Loring?
You going to get a 'Busa tattoo while you're up there Gary? :-)

So how many bikes TFA bringing Karl. We've got 2 turbo and a nitrous Hayabusa with us.

You're damn right I'm jealous! I want to be able to eat 2 plates of chinese food, ice cream & apple pie and still be 119lbs! That would spike me up to at least 122lbs!! Not to mention I wouldn't be able to breathe... or move... or sit!

Yuppers! Darn good thing my bike is more aerodynamic!

Yeah me too cause that would mean I was done packing!

Well we hope to be on the road tonight & we've got broadband so we'll try to keep up with the boards enroute!

See y'all soon!

Good news! The new leathers came, and they fit (albeit with a serious "buffalo knuckle"...aka "man toe").

The bad news...no package from Schnitz. I was expecting some 14 pieces, and a chain for the Busa. If they dropped the ball I will have to install the chain at the track...

Knocked out some electrical gremlins today (including some suspect positive connection on the logger, which may explain why it cut out last Maxton meet). Spent damn near an hour cleaning the bugs and goo off my front upper....man I miss the way the 12 looks with bodywork.

Forgot to hook up the positive cable to the starter motor so when I heard nitrous solenoid-like sounds I was pissed...until I remembered...dOH!!!! Bike fired up first try, let the logger do its thing and shut it down a few minutes later after people at the shop bitched about it being too rich and burning their eyes, lol.

Gotta mount up the side fairings and tail section again but need to score some velcro for the logger and PC3 as I'm once again re-re-re-configuring things in hopes to make it 1% better than before. Really what I need is a complete electrical overhaul, but I digress.

1.5 miles......man I've never had the bike geared this tall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hendrix, pulling together some last minute stuff including trailer and p/u truck lighting...going to work out some stuff and see if we can squeeze you in if your ride doesn't work out......11th hour but fugggit!!!!!

There was indeed a shipping issue. The chain and other parts are now on their way to the hotel in Maine, via overnight shipping. Busa goes in the trailer with "push power" later today. I guess I will be looking to bum some time with somebody's generator once at the track...

A guy at work asked me why I enjoyed racing so much, with all the grief involved. I told him that it was like a great movie...action, adventure, defeat, triumph...and the more than occasional comedy.

Update, to the best of my knowledge:

Entropy Bike w/Meyer riding 208 mph
Y2K bike w/Meyer riding 203 mph
Tshultz 12R w/dry shot 196.5 mph
Shane661 ZX-14 stock motor 197 mph
Shiphteey 12R w/healthy dry shot 220 mph (Yes, 220 mph)
RedRacer (Racheal) 204 mph, Busa Turbo. 1st woman in LTA 200 mph club.

There were decent cross/headwinds today. And various mechincal germlins around. Better #'s tomorrow?
