'03 to '04 zx12 motor swap ( problems)
I got a deal on an 03 motor to put in myn '04.
Well it wont start, sounds out of time, I put all, and I mean all my electronics on the motor.
The only thing it can be is the position of the cam sensor lobe, or the crank is different.
Anybody have a picture of the end of a cam sensor lobe off an 03

Cranks are the same.........

Ignition rotor is different. Did you swap that? I remember something about 16 vs 32 bit system between the 2 years.
Cam sensor and rotor use the same part numbers. Crank is the same part number as well.

You talking about the cam position sensor thingy being different? Good to hear it wasn't anything major.

The lobe itself, it bolts to the end of the exhaust cam. it has a key slot and positions itself on the cam, the 04 and 03 are different, they sit at different positions once bolted to the cam

Glad you got it going, but that's well documented.
you could have grind the positon tit off and the bolt will hold it in the new place.
Doug Meyer gave us that tip.
I thought someone mentioned the exhaust cam tip early.
