coils
The self diagnostic mode says all four coils are in fault.I checked the primary and secondary windings which are ok.When hot,the primary goes to 1.9ohms.Any way to clean the coil contact area that slides over the spark plug terminal?I blasted it with brake cleaner but didn't know if there is some other way.

Pete,
all 4 coils throwing a fault at the same time sounds more like they wern't getting power for a bit than the contacts being dirty.

Well the fault won't clear and the common denominator is the ground.I have to trace the schematic back to where that is.I asked about cleaning them because I notice dirt around the outside and and it looked grayish in the hole.I don't believe it is my problem however I like having clean connections on electrical parts when possible.I just never heard anyone mention it.What I am fighting now is a break up at WOT from 5000 up.

each coil is grounded separately thru the ECU; the power is common.
