burned up clutch puller

i had the clutch in while decelerating from a pass and the puller piece in the pressure plate burned through the puller arm that the cable goes onto. i know it has stronger springs but i was thinking the needls bearings do the job.. it did feel rough bearing wise and i cleaned it out seems maybe a speck of something was in it. needless to say i only got 2 passes on the bike extended with basket.
i am about 4.5" back more than i was at 16/44. we took some spring out of it to lower the rear to about where it was shorter. it has the front glued to the track with a 1.62 60ft. no way getting that 60ft short without some gymnastics. i put 18/50 gearing on it. so first pass was 9.62 at 149.50 and second was same 1.62 60 9.62@ 146. the afr ended up at 13.4 to 13.5. next weekend is a nother friday gruge. i am going to get the afr at 12.9 to 13.0 for now.
i like the fact my wore out 200 qualifyer did the job. but the logger showed i am not getting on the juce soon enough and the rpms are pulling down to around 5000 to a little bit lower.
can not waite for next friday.
since i broke i got to ride other peoples bikes. i took out a 05 gsxr1000 lowered, strapped, geared, full system. first pass was a 9.997 second i turned it up some and got a 1.73 60ft and hit a 9.83@148.5 that bike scoots and the front did not hint at lifting at all. easy 9.7s for me on it.
then i took out tshults redrocket. well i guess i did not listen about the button shifting cause i botched first gear. his bike runs strong now with the brock meg and the new map (think from kzscott)

stack hight was at max or a tad taller. everything was looking normal the tipical flat spots on the arm but not real bad. it literaly spun and heated up and pulled through the puller arm.
still had a fun night sort of. i have a 32meg movie of tshults in action but i can not figure out how to get it on except for hosting it my self again. i think i will do that tonight or tomorrow.

they can all burn up... the needle bearing setup sucks... one thing is to make sure that the washer is under the top of the puller like it should be. I always carry a spare, when I was racing all of the time I would burn them up every once and a while...
the Lockup setup has a support bearing in the clutch cover to help prevent this...

I ran the lock up from muzzys for years without the bearing support, as rob did not offer it for a while..........

I did once break the needle bearing........, luckily found all the parts......, did not even know I broke it, wanted to make an adjustment after a pass and found it..........

the bearing support popped out of my cover once, it burned up the parts. The muzzy setup is shorter than the mtc, so the mtc has more wobble with the same clearance and requires the bearing even more than the muzzy. i didnt break the bearings though
