Water Hose Replacement??
On the ZRXOA Site a few guys were out riding when the guy in front started leaking from his lower radiator Hose. SOmeone had to catch him before the next turn or there would have been serious problem. Kwick got all of the Hose part number and ordered some sets which came out to about $45.00
My question is how many of you have "Ever" Replaced your water Hoses on your bikes that are over 4 years old?
My ZRX is now about 10 years old and my ZX12R is 9 years old and I have NEVER even thought about replacing the hoses.
Here we all are talking about all of the money we have spent on all of the Go fast goodies and "WHO" has ever replaced a Hose? I even plan to do this on my wife's 9 year Old 250 Ninja.

Mine usually sustain crash damage during the course of a race season, requiring replacement. When I do my year-end major rebuild, I usually replace hoses. We run a 1.6 bar cap, which puts a lot more stress on the system.

I was wondering about the coloured ones made in the UK. I think replacing the hoses with a colour to match the paint would look nice, as long as the hose is as good as oem quality

i replaced all my hoses late last year, not bc they were leaking, just bc they were getting old and their condition was exasturbated (sp  ) by me pulling the motor every month.

I understand Karl, the Hose clamps are dangerous! I posted this because I have never replaced a Hose on any of my bikes. Even my 1984 900 which I have to rebuild, had 10 years on it. I am replacing all hoses on all bikes ASAP. 10 years is a long time and I would not go that long with any car. I am on the second set of replacement hoses on the BMW and getting ready to change the hoses on my Astro van that only has 92,000 miles but is 10 years old.
Everyone should replace the hoses every 5 years and this is my PSA

Good to see you around Mr. Hill. Hope things are going well for you. I have never replaced any hoses on any of my bikes. I know I probably should have, but I guess I'm cheap. I had a 1984 Ninja 900 as well, poor thing was done when I sold it. Must have had it for almost 15 years.

The WORSE Part for me is I will change Hoses and belts on a CAR but I Plain never thought about the Bike! I guess that comes from owing many Air Cooled Motorcyles! My 84 was my favorite Kawasaki and my first street bike that would go over 150.
Yes 4 years is an Excellent interval if you do not have "Sometimers" like I do and can remember ro even think to remember!
