lash on the bench: 60 sec jig construction

requirements:
1. 4 ole head bolts
2. 1 ole head gasket
3. a drill the size of the head bolts
4. coupla lil 2 x 4 blocks
5. can of Bud Light

procedure:
1.drill 4 holes in the bench using the ole HG as a template,
2. mount the head in the "jig"

that little vixen.

was she a little enibriated? that could compromise numbers..

lol.. question tho bossman.. why the head gasket? and the wood block?

the 2 blocks are to get the head off the bench so that the valves are free to move when i turn the cam.

the HG is to protect the head surface

The set up ain't too clever but works great.

yep, i can use all the help i can get!

a couple years ago i tried setting lash with the head on the bench abut gave up cause the head wanted to walk around.

It doesn't walk now

very nice Karl. that Excel program is great! measure lash in easy to use thou, it does the conversion to metric for you.

very awesome.. i loves it.. hell, i found an old head gasket off the project motor.. got some bolts.. might have to make myself a lil somethin!!

yup, also put both cases through it, but got busted by some black residue... ut-oh.
I think a $99 HF parts cleaner may be in my future.
