almost there

well my motor is together and I stabbed her in last night, still buttoning her up.
waiting on exhaust gaskets right now.
any recomondations before I fire it up. will the oil pump pick up oil or is there a way to prime it.
How should I run her at first. my guess would be around 2k rpm for a few heat cycles ?

unhook the injectors, crank it till oil comes out the filter, with the filter cracked, then fire it.......

4 heat cycles, then take it to the track.......

good luck

looks like my pc is not working properly. Hooked up my laptop and its not seeing the the ignition module. I went through this when I first installed the ignition module. why would it lose all that info. can it do that being discconected from the battery for so long.

i put a bunch of thick grease on/in the pump rotor to make sure it has an air tight seal when you first turn it over. a good slothereing of thick assembly lube in addition also makes me feel good. i also prefill the filter which lets oil run down to the pump. 2 rebuilds(2 bikes) and the oil light pretty much goes right out after the bike is fired up. im not going to change the routine this yr

no idea on the PC, not sure what type of memory it has

just got the pc and ignition module up to par. lots of time on the phone, lots of downloads and updates, shes ready to go. sitting here waiting for my exhaust gaskets, crossing my fingers.
Bike made 165 hp on stockmotor on our dyno, any guesses to what shell pull now.
1290 kit
web cams degreed 103-105
new bearing opened up a bit from what theywere.
head cleaned up with fresh valve job
heavy springs, which will rob some power.
other stuff done but that doesnt add power.

Why don't you see if anyone has a decent 1290 base map...maybe Scott? He was running a 1290 with two intake cams, I believe. Might be in the ballpark...

try adding 10% to the 80 and 100% TPS above 8 grand. i didnt really have much time to play with mapping after i found the air leak that was causing my logs to show extra lean, so i only really got "drag race" rpms kinda where i wanted them
oh and just use some ultra copper on some old gaskets, or just ultra copper by itsself. i was told this by a guy running a 1500cc KZ with a big shot (i think over 150) of nitrous. just be sure to run it thru a few heat cycles before using the wideband O2 sensor/ sniffer
