i guess theres no OBD on your mahine.

i know all the EFI bikes, you can cycle the coils and injectors and all to test them individually.
that'd be nice, eh?

lol.. the R6 is probably my fav for troubleshooting.. so easy to access OBD and test stuff.

No OBD. She's going to Daytona and back tomorrow for a good run.

Just an update. #2 is fouling out at cruise. She totally fouled out #2 plug on the way to Daytona yesterday. I stopped at the local Kawi dealer over there and picked up a set of over priced plugs. Installed them and leaned out the pilot screw and air screw for #2 carb. She ran fine all the way home. Carbs are coming back off this weekend to see if I can find the problem.

I tune carb`s with a infa red heat gun....I adjust the air/fuel screws to the temp of each pipe to get them to the same coolest temp. of all 4 pipes....Not all air/fuel screws are ever the same......Off throttle responce is excellant after......Just takes some time to get right....JMO...

Pulled the carbs off last night and found #2 float height off. Made myself a float guage and set them all exact. May still have to replace the #2 float valve. The top spring loaded plunger just wasn't as strong as the other 3. Off to the track again tomorrow night.

Yes it was high. FCR's call for 9mm float height. #2 was down to about 7.5 to 8mm. At that level the float will bottom out on the carb casting before it will bottom out on the float valve. #2 was most likely never fully shutting off when the bike was at full temp and there is slight pressure inside the gas tank.

Yea, if the needle was never shutting off the fuel then that cylinder must have been washing down a bit.

Glad you got it figured out. So hows it running now with the carbs ok?

Whats it making for power now?

So far so good. She ran fine last night but I still need to do a final adjustment on the air bleeds. Last time on the dyno she made 167hp and 99 TQ. I've since changed cam timing and am waiting for Brock to finish testing on his new ZRX exhaust. I know my Akro is choking it off some. I'm sure it would also benifit from oversize valves and a little different porting.

Nice power numbers.... what cam timings have you tried so far?

I know someone who could "fix up" that head for you...

Those numbers are with the recomended Yosh settings of 105/102. I recently set them to 105/109 in an attempt to move the power a little higher up the RPM. Not sure if it made much difference as the air is getting worse down here by the day. $$ is holding me back from having my other head done right now. I was hoping to see some results from the big valve ZRX head to did for Seth in WA. but his build is on hold for the summer. Right now I need a better exhaust before I go adding more flow.
