suprise in the mail today (Hindle)

I knew it was the pipe, but I thought i was getting a used SS system for some reason. Wrong! i unwrapped the header first from its bubble wrap and i think my eyes just about popped out of my head lol

the whole thing weighs 10 pounds going by the bathroom scales.(just did 3 more back to back tests which are accurate to about .5 pound) it was on a stock motor no power adders, so im sure i can make it look like a rainbow when i give it a shot of nitrous :P

both of us making the switch from Muzzy to Hindle eh Shane? Muzzy makes great pipes, but the Hindle (and Brock/Hindle) seem to be just a little bit better. I think the larger diameter tubing on the Hindle after the initial section (which is the same size as Muzzy street system) will respond better to nitrous. and Ti is obviously lighter! i may shorten the can to get further weight savings. im thinking the lower section with the race tech sticker wouldnt be missed. I think I could get it close to the Alien head weight spec for the 14 of 9 pounds.
I kinda have map support too, allthough nothing like Brock. I have VH's map that made 182 hp on a stock motor. i richened the top end of the map by roughly 10% by comparing the map i used for 07 and the map i made based on log files to try for 09(if i had of kept the Muzzy). Ill further tweak it with the logger as soon as everything is back together. Im hoping for 4-5mph improvement in the 1/8 and 1/4 NA
450 cad shipped. I love buying used stuff

Didn't think I would switch from the Muzzy, but the Brock's is 5 lbs. lighter!

Scott,
Are you sure that the header part of the pipe is Ti? It sure looks like stainless to me. Hindle uses a thinner wall tubing than Muzzy does. That could be your weight difference. The can is Ti but I would double check the header before you buy a Ti bung.

That's a good question i just welded a bung to my Hindle exhaust and had no problems i just assumed the pipe was SS and not Ti.

Good deal. Glad you got it sorted out before you ordered a Ti bung that you didn't need. Those Ti bungs are kinda pricey. I think I paid like 50 or 60 bucks for mine.

I got my new brocks system last week, and. Am loving it. I went with the shorty gen3 system which is probably a lot like what you're looking to do to your pipe. It's 14" instead of 20.

im just not sure i want to cut it . ill probly tape it off and use a dremmel cut off wheel, then file it flat. unless there are better ways?

Scott looking at your pipe I realized that it is an "Original" Step Tube Hindle! One of the first 25 made! How do you know? After the first look at Shanes pipe and see that the Collector where the 4 go into the 2 is Separate and yours is welded into 1 piece like mine was!

is that not because of the fact that shanes is a brocks by hindle, and scott's is just a hindle?

No, Has nothing to do with Shanes! I got one of the first 5 they made and a friend got one later (Bergie) and it was made without the extra welding. The difference between Brocks and Hindle you cannot see because it is in the Divider Plate in the "2" Section!

thats pretty cool, one of the first 25! i got it from a guy in ontario, so i have no doubt it was bought directly from Hindle in ontario. Harry (northernkaw) had it on a bike then sold it to a friend. i got it from the friend as he switched to an all Ti Arata i believe

The Ti-Arata is a lot Prettier Pipe and Beautiful Welds, but Beauty is as Beauty does and Nothing is (on A verage) better than what you have!!

I just lost a paragraph I wrote! The long an short is 11 to 1 A/F and use a simple system that does not rely on the idiot designer which in my case is ME! I must set the NOS & Fuel pressure for each power setting I plan to use. I did a LOT (A WHOLE LOT) of flow testing to get these figures. The problem is, I forgot to set a fuel pressure once and destroyed my engine!

I use a Muzzy fuel Pump and a device I made to take the fuel from the return side through a bypass Fuel pressure regulator so that I can use a fixed size Fuel and NOS Jet!
