NOT for me! JE Pistons!!
As you know I use CP Pistons, but I need a set of Turbo ZX14 pistons that JE Makes because the MTC and others use a 2 MM Shorter Set of Rods where the JE Still use the stock rods and even stock rings.
Since John Noonan is gone, who is the person to deal with now?

That is who I think I spoke to! $740 for a set of turbo Pistons without rings? With MTC Costing in the usual $550 range with rings? Are they (JE PISTONS) now gold plated or do I need the secret Pass word?

That about what I paid for my last set of JE's with thermal and skirt coatings. You know the contact to deal with on the ZRX board. You will pay more going direct with JE.

vince will there be any negative effects hp wise going shorter on rod length with our high rpms? will have more thrust on piston skirt?? i know 2mm is not much on car a bad rod ratio number engine with less dewll time gets the cam advanced somewat than a better rod ratio. i think 104 vs 107ish. does this effect us on bikes much or is our stroke changes small and not worth worrying about. just curious..

Mr. Hill give www.SAEOUTLAWPERFORMANCE.com a try. He is a real good guy and has real good prices. His Day job is in the lawn care industry. If you do not catch him leave him a message, he'll get right back with you. He is on the SH.org site as well.

The -2mm rod length only changes the rod/ stroke ratio very marginally.
I cant remember exact figures I had , but stock is something like 1.86:1, and -2mm is 1.84 :1 , still very safe rod to stroke ratio.
anything over 1.8 is considered good.
I bought my +2mm compression ht. JE pistons from Schnitz, but ended up speakin with TJ at JE anyway.
The price of the pistons went up substantially last May or June...
I ordered 2 sets, at the same time, I almost ended up paying $700 for the second set after getting the first set for approx $500...
Maybe -2mm crower rods and the MTC pistons would work for ya...for only $300 more
Crower rods as cheap as $500 I have seen.
The car industry like the crower I beams better than the H beams.
The I beam is stronger near the wrist pin I am told.
