PC3r: you ole trickster, you!

Although I have had issues in the distant past, my lil Lenovo laptop has been flawlessly hooking up to my PC3r for months.

then outa the blue, the laptop does not see the PC3r??????

hmmmmmm....

It refuses to recognize the PC3r for a week,

then outa the blue it sees it again.

No changes to nuthin.

WTF??

hey Ship!

I don't think anything is broken, just every once in a while the PC doesn't see the PC3r, i have also seen it happen on my dyno guy's PC.

He was having a bitch of a time connecting to Powercommanders of different bikes, then mysteriously the problem went away.

I betcha that we just need to click on something when it happens????????

i allways found it worked better if you turned the pc control center on after it was plugged into the bike and the bike was running. and the port was set to automatic. sometimes it wouldnt connect if the PCCC was turned on before the bike was fired up

yep, my experience is like yours, but i want it to reliably fire up when the bike is off.

My "work on the bike" hours usually start at 1am

my wife & neighbors seem to notice when i start it at 2am...

The PC3r uses an RS232 interface, not USB, right?

have you thought about sticking a car/truck muffler over the tip of the pipe for those late night fire ups? might make the sound low enough to avoid noise complaints? its not a fix for the pc issue, but may be a way around it. get some of that flexable tubing like in a dyno room and run it to a muffler from a half ton?

entropy i thought got the ridge mod? why are you messing with the power commander?
also the motty afr tuner sounds like a reason to chuck the power commander. what do you think???

i have a ridge modded ECU but only use it for extended rev limit.
My issues are around motor config, and don't want to introducing variables assoc w/the ECU at this time. My PC3r is very predictable wrt changing AF & ign timing so i am staying with it for now.

I don't know anything about the Motty unit; doing data logging with an Innovate system.

Do you know the sample rate of the Motty?
