I know a few girls that like to be bent over if a situation comes up....:P

as far as angle goes, (Nox will agree) make the swingarm level with you on the bike. dont lower it too far

I actually understood all of that and took some good information from it.

Same here.....

thanks

i not claiming that it was or is all me

wasnt about me...................................

has been worked out in 4 decades of racing

& if "squat" had read it once ...... understood it [he didnt]

he wouldnt have asked the question.................................this aint no quiz show
[wheres my prize? ? ? ? ]

no less scott if you start out level...........................not a bad place to start
with a shok the swingarm will go "negative".......not good

the other thing i needed to interject into the discussion

the longer one makes the swingarm.....................the more "leverage " is involved
torque is multiplied..........HP is NOT
several hundre foot pounds of torque are being leveraged down that swingarm

everyone knows that the longer the lever ...................the bigger the advantage
or disadvantage.............the longer swingarm is working the shok H A R D E R

while most riders dont want a bike standing up
that doewsnt mean that most or all the motive force is sending them foward

way out around 68 inches..................ought to be in the 8's

I asked the question because I deal more in the practical application, not the theoretical (unlike you). Anyone can read a thread or article. Applying it to a specific bike is a different story.

I am looking for feedback from real drag racers....not internet racers.

For those who want to read up on some theory, here is a good article:

http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0404_motorcycle_traction_geometry/index.html

Now, back to practical application on the ZX-14....

i never presented any theory

i never said i was the guru & my way was the right way

& i will say it again

if you knew & understood..................................you would not have asked the ?

you would know the right or practical application for your 14

fact is you asked

fact is you dont

fact is you want to make this personal....................................you failed on all fronts

many understood what i said

i dont write or publish books

& there are a lot of successful racers that dont

And here is a more in-depth thread....the one where Flite got his info:

http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=27&TID=40590&set_time=

Flite is an internet racer to the highest degree. I would caution anyone reading this thread to process what he says very carefully. If possible, seek out those with practical experience.

& yet you have notthe answer to your own question

thats rich

you are weaker than bottled water.................................flaccid

look at the times on my post

i could not read & typed in that period of time

no less look at the technical subect matter

i approached the subject from several differentiated POVs

to most that would indicate a broad in depth amount of knowledge

the info......knowledge is 30 years old

yet you call it theory as if 1st grade math is theory

while it may be beyond your reach...........................................it aint theory

The link to the thread is above. What are you talking about?? How is that a phantom thread?

I am still looking for practical information, as it applies to the ZX-14. Not as it applies in general, nor as it applies to cars, nor as it applies to your moped....get it?

You think that because someone reads some general info online, they now have the answer to the question in all applications? No. That is the difference between the theoretical and the practical application of knowledge.

you dont know whati think

im still unfamiliar with that link.............................havent seen it

didnt post to it

when it come to swingarms & launching
neither are zx14 inclusive or exclusive

as i said be i am not aguru
no where in a 1/2 dozen post did i ever say what i did.........................or

what you or anybody else SHOULD do...................................NOT ONCE
of course you would have to adapt any..........thats right ANY info

to your situation

thats a given
it would change with rider..........bike weight
forks lower or strapped
dogg bones or shox
shinko or MH slicks

toooooooooo many variables for 1 answer
yet where i started & what i delineated upon is a very good place to start
so you keep your thread..........& your book

you have admitted you know not how to set up your bike
& you have accomplished that on your own
i answered your question
another rider/racer wanted more in depth explanation
he got it

& another said he got something out of it
thats all i could do.................................................& to the detriment of no one ! ! !!

i have not shown myself to be afraud
nor have i given info that would cost anyone .....................anything

if you.....they........or anyone choose not to read + understand
what ive posted

so be it

im not diminished at all

yet you remain forever S T U P I D ! ! ! ! !
dont know the answer to your own question
& you have books & threads

pathetic..............................................................so Sad

The link is posted in this thread. Obviously you are not even reading the thread.

You have indeed "shown yourself to be a fraud" in almost every thread (including this one).

Whatever someone else got from your drivel....they can get 10X better info from the two links that I provided...and they can get it in proper English.

i never said they couldnt expand the subject
fact is they should get as much info from many different sources

thru any media they wish

there may be a thousand sources out there........................troubles me little

the only way i could be a fraud
if i said i was the one......only.....true source

i didnt say that ......
i didnt post that

in fact they can disregard you & me................................means nothing to me
cept when im in staging ..............................& i see someone is set up wrong
i already know i got him sussed

we have all seen them sey up wrong....................
bikes that look like theyve been broken in the middle
sure it wont stand up..............................................wont launch worth a damn neither

some with swinarms.....................past the class limit
sure they wont stand up...............................most in this area are "positive"

they are more mine is longer than urz.............
they dont launch worth a damn either

no "dynamic" weight transfer

someone is going to read......& understand what i posted
i was just sharing
maybe you meet eyeball to eyeball across the xmas tree

maybe u lose
you do because you dont know

& worse
you dont understand

not as extensive as my road racing experience

i went from street racing to drag & back to street racing.......................more profitable

my equiptment got a rep for being fast..............................
i learned from some very good builders............................
one in fact was very good.............he could build anything better than most
tho he was less the tuner

i became a very good tuner.....................really really good
i was encouraged to get into road racing
very different from drag....................................yet good equiptment
will yield good results

i was taught by the best that preparation is at least 1/2 the win
many list 30 different aftermarket things they have bought..................
1/2 dont contribute as much as they think
thats where the tuner thing really started to separate the wheat from the chaff

all those cams..pistons.....etc
the results were not that much better
sure they had spent the money.........................yet the combination
the sum of ALL parts simply wasnt that much better

take for instance this little tidbit
top end tuning makes for a lousy launch tune

if you are at a marginal track..........bad launches
tune top end..... come off the line moderate
if the track aint giving up 60 footers..........................u aint gettin none either

now weve all seen someone get run down at the big end................................true that

So, would it be fair to say:

1) You were a street racer for money.

2) You have drag raced many bikes.

3) You have a lot of roadracing experience.

4) You were part of an International Endurance Racing Team.

5) You were good friends with famous deceased racers.

Does this sum up your pedigree?

I'm going to start a separate thread on psychrometers. You're going to love it. lol

I don't know about the direct injection...will it help me set up the suspension on my 14? If so, please tell me.

How much squat do you think I need?
