Texas Mile Info:

Posted by Halvefast and Noonan on other LSR sites:

Hello Everyone,

We have a very important announcement for all Texas Mile participants. The Texas Mile has decided that we will be hosting a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event March 28-29, 2009- BUT there is ONE condition. WE MUST HAVE 60 ENTRANTS REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY 30 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.

If we have 60 participants registered for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday by February 28, 2009 than we will start the event on Friday.

If you would like to participate on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the entry fee will be $300.00 .
If you would like to participate on Saturday and Sunday only the entry fee will be $200.00 .
(Participating on Friday and Saturday only is NOT an option)

If you are interested in participating all three days please send an email to: info@nasatx.com

Thanks

Yep, I hear you all $300 is a little steap for me compared to the wait time and amount of runs avialable now days. I use to be able to get a ton of runs in on just one day. They used to have less crowds, less wait time and much, much less than $200. Now If they limited Friday to 60 entrants, I would be all over it.................................but they really should have kept it the same price and just made it 3 days.

Just might pit for my Brother this March anyway. He got layed off a few days ago, so I'll be taking the brunt of the designated LSR bike build back (going back to a shoe string budget)and probably paying his way for march (Got to get him 200mph).

I hate saying this but the Texas Mile is holding less intrigue for me. Well at least until the day we go turbo on the bike or they start to care about things.

Gary & I agree on pretty much all things, but i am still loving the Texas Mile, plenty of intrigue, plenty of challenge.
GREAT folks, GREAT fun, as much a social event as a quest for speed.

I for one, like the way the organizers handle things, just enough "Texas casual", but still safe.

Yep Karl, I like the Texas Extra Causual. Don't get me wrong I like to go fast. And best of all I like to hang with the coolest folks around TFA.

Just got a little irritated at the Texas Mile folks for Jacking the price and not being able to keep thier web site updated!

Wow, $300 is Bonneville prices. I paid $325 entry for World of Speed, a 3 day event. Maxton is $100.

hey Mike,
slummin' with the Kwak folk, eh?

$100 for an extra day doesn't bother me. Hell, next day air on a head from Y2k is more than that.

Dean,
howmany passes did you get to make for that $325 at Bonneville???

I'm thinking $100.00 could be a deal,as there may be less people and the weather may be better --- or worse who would know

hmmm...
the wifey now tells me her and the kids might stay home... so I am not sure if I would do 2-3 days...
vacation is no biggie... I just earned an extra 40hrs for my 15yr anniversary... woo hoo!

so I might be good for 3 days, I am pretty sure I would run out of spray in 3 days...
