quote: Flite, the only reason my motor had pistons hitting valves was due to me not hitting the shift button soon enough and hitting the rev limiter. THATS IT! so you can stop your condesending remarks about me and my work. it takes a LOT to really piss me off but you have done it. dont ever post in any thread i ever start again. you are absolutely the most negative and know it all smart ass ive ever seen on bikeland with no proof to back up your statements. im done with you. Its very obvious I can get as much tech info as i need from nice people on this forum like Karl, Tim, Doug, Jim, JC, VH, Gary, Shane, the list goes on and on...
Time is on my side, stick around and watch my progress, 07 rookie of the yr, 08 broke the et and mph records in my class. 09??
welcome to my ignore list. GO FUCK YOURSELF.
valves properly clearanced dont hit the top of pistons
if that were the case
ALL the valves would be hitting the pistons
cams properly indexed dont allow valves to hit the top of pistons
spittin the shims has all & everything to do with you NOT shifting correctly
& by the way altho the pic is crummy
buy yourself a "V" block so you can see if you valves...... the stems are straight
from the pic looks like they AINT
condescending nor critical am i
all ive mentioned is clearly seen from the pix YOU POSTED
this brings up a Real Sticking POINT
to have knowledge & experience to know & see & essentially EVALUATE
does NOT come from magazines
NONE of you wankers came up with ANYTHING
& having come up with NOTHING............you FAILED to HELP scott at ALL
not a one of you said yeah you know fellow racer
you might want to check this..... or that
no less with the OBVIOUS problems we all are seeing........this is HOW
you check..... this is how you do it correctly
this is what you watch out for
Sadly none of you offered him ANY help from the sidelines AT ALL.........HOW SO ? ? ?
at NO time did i discredit his attempt or effort to go racing
yet from what he contributed there's at least 6-12 things wrong with that engine
& he wants to attribute them ALL to rider error & Nitros
BALONEY !!!!!!!!!!
"squish stix" i never mentioned squish stix altho i know 3-4 different ways to measure
squish........................Scottt mentioned he wanted to maintain squish...NOT ME
i hope none of youz have children........................the gene pool forever diluted
to have knowledge....... applied knowledge.........experience is NOT GOOD
what passes here is will & effort & smak talkin
as long as im doin sumthin....................im the man
even if its bassackwards & preety close to Wrong
as long as im tryin........ im a late nite hero
close minded & NOT open to help
that all you got..........................................................................SAD
that engine was coming apart top to bottom & it was saved by a spit shim
putting aother 1 together with that same attitude will result in worse results
if ALL were adept you would notice that i never really said do as i say do
that i have the only way to do it...........................NEVER DID
what i did do was comment on the obvious
acted on reasonably it could only be seen as help
he would end up a better mechanic ............. better engine....... better results
yet from smak talkin............derision
NO help from fellow racers
he will end up with a crap pile
none of you help him & the sad fact is he's BEYOND help
sad

that right there is completely wrong.. bigger=slower.
less load=less strain on the flux=less mechanical load.

i know on a typical generator it does not effect the power consumed if it is not needed. so if the bike works like a generator and you are not loading the charging system a lot who cares. unless the charging system is maxed out all the time and the regualtor is grounding the extra then i can see it but loosing say 2 to 3 hp to keep the voltage up where it belongs to me would be a good trade off.
friend went from no charging system in a challenger in the low 11s to running a charging system to get away from charging the battery between rounds and his et stayed the same and mph increased. i would bet the higher voltage to the msd and coil helped out.

Flight I don't know what you have had going off in your brain but I would damn well make it stop because I think you have broke something. Any way a Merry Chrismas to all and to all a good bike.
Flight leader I think you just like to start shit and that is your whole purpose for posting at all is just to stir up shit but thanks because you have entertained the hell out of me. I would have never learned about squish let alone tuna squish or squish sticks. And as far as the other babbleing bullshit, I have nothing but time.

thats the last thing i need on a site with fellow riders and possibly potential customers..
everntually, i think, i'll be someone whos posts can be taken to the bank thru posting pertainent, correct, understandable and informative stuff and NOT being comabtive with some of the smartest and most knowledgeable ppl in the industry here..
theres no way you'll gain any credibility with that.. i can say that i worked with the #38 ADT/Audi LeMans team in '02 working with carbon fiber (which i did..) on the LMP900 R8.. does anyone HAVE to believe me? hell nah.. will anyone? maybe.. it IS true.. but who am i to try to prove what i did.
same with building bikes, high HP cars and such.. no ones gonna believe i build 600 HP supras and MR-2's in my shop or that i've build race bikes and stunt bikes, or that i EVEN HAVE a bike.. . or that i was an electrical engineer, PLC programmer and motor controls expert, and have a background in electronics.

all i can do is do my thing, apply my knowledge, prove i know my shit here and use that to better the site and help ppl.. not fight with everyone..

i have never said what i did or what i do
ive been asked & no less denigrated
yet what i have said for what has been been evidenced by the fowarded photos
has been spot on
now that couldne beremotely possible if i didnt know what i was talkin about
i took a pass on the valves hitting the pistons
becuse the photo was SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD
i mentioned the crank clearnces & was berated by an admin/mod &
THE pISTONS WERE smackin THE head
the ONLY way that could happen is Bad setup to Start with
no less i mentioned Crank clearances & big end bearings................NO PHOTOS YET
i wonder why
from top to bottom EVIDENCED by the photos
this engine had serious problems
with knowlwdge & experience i not supposed to comment about that
when its obvious in the photos
when there have been at least 6 things that are simply WRONG
it aint about me or what i do or have done
i can SEE EXACTLY whats wrong

or like the guy from Competition CNC said it could have been only during warm up due to the fact that forged pistons run loose in the bore untill they are up to operating temperature and can rock in the bore. Jim looks to be a very smart man, with a buisness to back it up.
you dont have anything to back up what you are saying. what have you done? (specifically)

separating the wheat from the chaff .................................
race engines are seldom warmed up............or left to idle the worsedo
ride that 1/2 mile to staging lanes................sit 1.2 hour..............burn out & chirp
& someengines ARE NOT up to full temp
the water gauge wont be betwwen hot & cold
then you run a full pull 1/4 mile & by the time you get back
its hot
nascar engines are not allowed to idle
& one lap is considered warm up there & at indy .........that typically run alky engines
that run cooler & forged pistons
so all you coulda & if & & maybe guys are talking out your azzs
& even as they run 300 to 600 miles on nascar tracks
hthey rarely see dyno temps where its NOT Unusual to see glowing headers
but glowing heads
under controlled conditions its easier on a motor
& it also allows thwem to know the limits

FL,
You have no clue, again, what your talking about.
You assume all engines have the same type of cooling systems.
The more you speak the more aparent it is that you dont know what your talking about.
Thats why you cant answer a single technical question.
You love to talk about Sprint Cup teams, and cooling systems, so let me ask you this.
What are the 3 types of flow in the cooling systems that are commonly found on an SB2.2 engine?
For a bonus point, tell everyone what type is for what type of track.
And you never answered the piston pin offset question.
Heres an easy one, at what aproximate position on the degree wheel is the intake valve closest to the piston.
I'm just giving you an opertunity to show everyone that you actually do know somthing of substance.

where did anyone pose a question about cooling systems...................
iv not seen a post about cooling systems at all
as i asked u b4 & youve failed .........cut & paste & SHOE ME that thread/post
on cooling systems
no less show me my discussion on "SB 2.2" engines
that escapes me also........................cut & paste & show me where i have
posted on a "SB 2.2" engine
you other idiot referall about a valve being closest to thje piston
would depend on 2 or 3 other factors
a- that degree would be the same for every cam.....................................answer is NO !! ! ! !
b- the degree would be the same at any valve clearance.......................NO! ! ! !!
c- that degree would be the same if the head is shaved........................HELL NO! ! ! ! !
[& the last three bikes iv read about all 3 had the heads skimmed]
d- that degree would be the same for ALL Aftermarket pisto set ups............F^#K NO
so no one could pssobly answer that question correctly
you are an idiot to think anyone could
i know enuf that if that engine were on a bench to set it up right
would use my procedure & take my time
so no you did not provide me an opportunity
only yourself
