Didn't know Rich was racing in SanAntonio this Friday.

9secondJen will be there as well, She is in the latest 2WheelTuner Mag for her AMA Dragracing.

Sad I am missing out. What time do gates open for Hurricane Alley on Sat?

Thanks,

Gary

Thanks for the interest Brenda, it has been a blast this season.
The points website has had issues as of late so until we got to the track
most of us had no idea where we stood coming into the last race.

Shootout -class was all sewn up by Albert Lee last race, it pays to have bullet-proof bike.
Congrats on a consitant year with a quite fast 1000! Jason Rearick took runner-up honors.

Street/ET- had Mike Mathews leading Jason Rearick by 30 points coming into this race.
But Jason did what he had to do, went 3 rounds farther than Mike +1 round and putting
a period on the season by winning the race too. Way to go! A well fought fight.
There are lot of bikes to go thru in that class 78 bikes had entered over the 10 race series.
I came into this race in 4th but probably dropped a few by the nights end.

In the 600-750 Heads-up Shootout was kind of a run-away this season, Keith Cuellar beat last years Champ
Joseph Retzack for the championship out of 24 other competitors over the year. Congrats!

Pro/ET- So I come into this months race with the mis-conception that I have a 3 round
lead on Mike Mathews, similar to his in S/ET, . . . Wrong! Just one round ahead, I stand corrected.
Now if any of you have faced this guy in the other lane, you know that's not nearly enough room
especially when you're trying to win the Championship. Did I mention he is the 2007 Champ!
Just to give the man his due, someone else has given him a kinda back-handed compliment
by reffering to Mike as kinda like a "Tick" . . . really hard to take out! )

Down to nut-busting time . . .and who do I get 1st round, yep Mr. Mathews, "don't worry just run your own race",
Right?

Well I do my burnout, head to the line, and some guy, I have no idea who it is at the time,
is standing in front of me trying to line me up in a groove. "Get out of my way!"
I never needed you before and don't right now, especially right now!
Well I guess it threw me off my game, big ol' Redlight, damn!
Now we are tied for points, no pressure, righhhhhht Thank god for 1st round buy-backs.

2nd round who do I get this time "The giant killer" a guy that comes down just for the Hurricane Alley races tomorrow.
He rides an old CB400F set-up old school just for racing.
He takes out so many really good racers, cause he does his job, cuts a light and runs his number.

And by the way Mike gets the Bye-runs in this round, oh brother, can't I get a break.

Killer is dialed 13.15 to my 9.85, well I honestly thought they forgot to turn on my side of the tree.
I could barely see his taillight by now, oh here come the lights, I'm late. The bike starts to wheelie,
I hit second to settle it down, it does then the tire breaks loose. Oh man . . . I'm done,
get back after it and charge hard, keeping my head down chasing him.
Well I won't breakout that's for sure, I'm sure he can hear me comin', never looks back
and crosses the finishline about a half bike in front of me . . . and my win light comes on!

He brokeout running 13.12 to my 9.93, all the while Mathews is sitting on the line watching.
All he could say to me later while laughing, is "your one lucky sucker". Lol

3rd round, yep Mike and I draw each other again, still tied for the championship.
Well here we go "mano-a-mano" both dialed in, his 9.90 to my 9.85, and we are both fully
aware of what each other "can" run. This will decide the overall winner for the season.

We both leave late, but equally so, but he can usually leave right with me or a little better.
Well I got about a bike and a half on him out the hole, whoa! Now it becomes a pedalfest
to see who will take the stripe. And I was just lucky enough to have the win light come on in my lane.

My 1st Pro/ET Championship while my friend and competitor Mike Mathews takes 2nd in both ET classes, Awesome!

I gotta say it makes the season just loads of fun to run with such high caliber racers
and having so much respect and comradery for each other.
Thanks to all the Streetbike Shootout riders and to Chris Smith for putting on a series for us to race at.
