Oscope working: Kudos to rgeorge

My cool lil portable oscope has directions which make no sense to me at all.
I bought it 3 years ago on DaveO's rec, but never got around to actually taking him up on his offer to walk me thru the set up, and it's too late to ask Dave anymore.

Luckily Rob stepped up and got me going over the phone yesterday.

Thanks a million, Rob!

I looked at my crank and cam sensor signals, as well as all 4 injectors.
Apparently all are fine.

Next, i'll look at the signal to the coils.

Thanks again, Rob

Hey Karl, I'm glad you got it working. That is a neat little scope you have. I kinda wish I had one. It would be nice to have something like that to do a quick signal check.

Yup, I logged them for Ridgeracer back when he was hacking the ecu.

Actually, I don't even own a scope. That screenshot is from my USB based data-acquisition board in my bikes tail. It logs 8 analog channels at 10,000 Hz plus several digital channels. When I wanted to look at the shape of the signals, I hooked the cam and crank lines to analog inputs and upped the sample rate to max.

heres a trick.

hit up the local electronics school or high school vo-tech. most times, they'll have SO many of them donated, they'll end up on a shelf in a storage closet awaiting disecction or someother oddball fate. same goes for benchtop DMM's and signal geneators.. stuff like that.

i got a sweet tektronix this way for free. probes and all. granted, its a 1Mhz, but that was also about 10 years ago. chances are better and faster scopes have trickled into the mix.
